Former MOMOLAND member Yeonwoo recently updated fans through her fancafe, and people believe she's alluding that she was actually kicked out of the group instead of choosing to leave herself.
She posted the fancafe post late at night on July 3, where she opened up her thoughts to her fans. Many interpreted the post to mean she did not want to leave MOMOLAND, but was forcibly removed from the group.
The post reads:
"Is every one asleep? I come to you guys at this late hour because I have been experiencing mixed emotions these past few days. It's kind of serious, though... But as usual, it's not something too substantial.
Whenever I turn on Instagram live, there are always some comments I find hard to deal with. Some people will get angry if I don't give them an answer.
Everyone, how many of you are brave enough to give up your youth for a new start. I don't have that kind of boldness or will. But in the past and even now, I have endured, tolerated, and suppressed how I feel, but it didn't work out.
I didn't betray anyone just because I wanted to go into a different line of work. Do you how painful it is to be misunderstood and criticized by the people you love. Please, stop it. You know I can't explain things one at a time.
Why do people still hold onto the words that didn't even come from my mouth, thoughts that didn't come from my mind, and actions I didn't do? No matter what changed about me and how hard things were, I don't want to linger over it anymore. I don't want to keep crying. I just want to create a future and be happy with all of you whom I love. You've all worked hard.
Right now, I have a new job. I don't have any other choice. I have to do this to continue my dream. I have to do this to live. I have to do this to be able to meet you all.
Everyone... of course, most of you here love and trust me, but this was the only place I could open up. I go here because it was rude to talk in another form. I'm sorry.
Even if you hate me, I still love you. Honestly... I think this could still feel like a burden. But I'm trying to do my best. I hope you all know that. I'm sorry for posting so late. Good night."
Yeonwoo debuted in 2016 as MOMOLAND's main rapper, vocalist, visual, and face of the group. The group was formed through the Mnet survival program "Finding Momoland", where they selected 7 out of 10 contestants to form the group.
In 2017, Taeha and Daisy were added to the group. The group made their breakthrough in 2018 with "Bboom Bboom", and was the first-ever girl group and second act to earn a platinum certificate by Gaon Music Chart for surpassing 100 million streams. In October 2019, the group signed a co-management agreement with Philippine media corporation ABS-CBN. This comes following the success of their songs "Bboom Bboom" and "BAAM" in the country,
Yeonwoo left MOMOLAND back on November 29, 2019, alongside Taeha. The reason MLD Entertainment gave was that Yeonwoo left on her own accord to focus on her career as an actress. She is still signed to the label. Daisy left the group in 2020 but still remains as an artist at MLD Entertainment.
