K-Pop dances are one of a fan's favorite part of a song and many can't wait to see their favorite groups perform the song live. However, some broadcasting agencies (namely the three majore ones: MBC, SBS, and KBS) have deemed certain choreographies to be unsuitable for broadcasting, leading artists to change the dance or be banned from performing altogether.

Here are 16 K-Pop dances that were banned on broadcasts.

1. VIXX's "Voodoo Doll"

VIXX actually released two version of their music video for "Voodoo Doll" - a clean version and the original. One of the things changed for the clean version was a dance move in which it appeared the members were being stabbed with a pin like a voodoo doll. Though it matched the concept of the music video, it was deemed to violent for audiences.

2. SISTAR's "So Cool"

"So Cool" was banned by all three major broadcasting companies for the choreography's point dance, in which the girls rub their butt and sway their hips to the beat of the song. To perform the choreography on broadcasts, they had to change that dance move. Instead of swishing their hips, the girls put their hands to their heads and moved it to the beat.


3. Rainbow's "A"

Another girl group song banned by the three major broadcasting companies, the song's original choreography showed the girls slightly raising their shirts to reveal their abs. Despite not showing any parts of their chest, the move was banned and needed to be altered for broadcasts. When the girls performed it, they basically did the same hand and hip movements, just without lifting their shirts.

4. Sunmi's "Full Moon"

"Full Moon" was considered too sensual for audiences due one part of the choreography, in which Sunmi is seen on the sofa spreading her legs and covering her crotch with her hand. It was deemed unsuitable for broadcasts and altered for live performances. Instead of doing that move, she instead kept her knees together

5. Dal Shabet's "B.B.B"

Dal Shabet definitely didn't shy away from their concepts, but it earned them a strike once broadcasting agencies saw their choreography for "B.B.B." They were not a fan of the choreography's chest rubbing move, claiming it was too provocative. In broadcasts, the girls held their hearts instead.

6. Dal Shabet's "Mr. Ambitious"

The second song by the group on this list, it seems broadcasters chose to keep an eye on the group following their "B.B.B" choreography. "Mr. Ambitious" was deemed too provocative for audience since the choreography featured tear open front skirts, in which the girls would use the skirts as a prop. The members of Dal Shabet all wore shorts under it, so they were covered up, but broadcasting agencies believe the shorts were too short.


7. EXID's "Up & Down"

Though it's known as the group's breakthrough song and their most popular song to date, the dance was actually banned on broadcast due to its signature hip thrusting move. To perform it on broadcast, that part of the dance to be modified. Instead of moving their hips up and down, the would stand upright and move their hips side to side and then drop down slight and move their hips again.

8. Cross Gene's "Amazing Bad Lady"

This boy group choreography was deemed inappropriate for viewers for one move - the boys were seen thrusting with their hands over their crotch. It was deemed unsuitable for broadcast and it had to be altered to be performed on music shows.

9. AOA's "Miniskirt"

"Miniskirt" was deemed too suggestive for viewers since the choreography featured the girls unzipping the side zippers of their skirt and wiggling their butt. To perform it on broadcast, the girls had to not unzip their skirts. For live shows, you can see that in their performances, the zipper was unzipped already at the start.


10. 4Minutes's "Mirror Mirror"

In the original choreography for "Mirror Mirror," the girls can be seen on their knees and spreading their legs. It was deemed too provocative for broadcasts and the dance had to be adjusted to suit broadcast standards.

11. Jiyeon's "Never Ever"

Jiyeon, former member of T-ARA, shocked netizens when she released her solo track "Never Ever." The dance was deemed too shocking for audiences due to her hip rolls. Due to this, she was banned from performing the song on stage.

The whole choreography for "Move" was deemed inappropriate, and the music video itself was given a 19+ rating due to how raunchy it was. To perform on broadcast, the girls had to change most of the choreography. In the original dance, they were often seen on the floor, but danced standing up on music shows.


13. STELLAR's "Marionette"

It was deemed too provocative and inappropriate for broadcast and the girls modified the dance. In music shows, they would instead rest their hands on top of their butts.


16. GaIn's "Paradise Lost"
