BLACKPINK made fans smile with their unexpected "Gwihogang Live" as they recalled memories of their trainee years and expressed their importance to one another.
YG Entertainment, the agency that handles the group, posted the fifth episode of its exclusive reality content "24/365 with BLACKPINK" on BLACKPINK's official YouTube channel at 9:00 a.m. on August 1. BlLACKPINK, who had just finished eating at a picnic, had a small talk over cocktails. The members were eating snacks when Jennie said, "We ate a lot of things that looked like these when we were trainees."
The idol group has no choice but to brave the difficulties in living in a dorm during their teenage years. Rosé was teary-eyed as she shared her thoughts about falling apart from her parents but soon regained her bright side due to the members' verses and mischiefs. "That's when the four of us got the most together," Jenny said.
The behind-the-scenes story of the members who worked hard for their current status had also been revealed. "I've never danced in my life before I started training," Rosé said. "I've grown my dream by looking at Lisa. I thought I wanted to dance like Lisa."
Soon after, BLACKPINK recalled their memories of singing songs together before their debut. Rosé gladly began to play her guitar on the spot and performed Jessie J's "Price Tag," which was her favorite song at the time.
The members, who were enjoying the moment, also added their unique voices, and "Gwiho River Live" was played, which led to BLACKPINK's version of 2NE1's "Lonely" and Park Bom's "You And I."
Jisoo said, "If we did this all night it will be so much fun," followed by a happy smile. Jennie said, "I think it's good to have this kind of time. We could feel the importance of each other." And the members all said, "Let's do well. Way to go."
BLACKPINK once again won the No. 1 trophy on KBS2's "Music Bank," which aired on July 31, and won 13 domestic music broadcasts. With "How You Like That," released on June 26, BLACKPINK has achieved significant results, including an all-kill on all major domestic music charts, as well as ranking second in Spotify's Global Top 50. The song also broke the all-time high ranking of K-pop girl groups, ranking 33rd on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and 20th on the British Official Singles Top 100.
BLACKPINK, scheduled to return with their second special song this month, has recently confirmed the release of their first full-length album on October 2. BLINKs are paying keen attention to what new records they will release as they focus on the global market with thorough preparation and planning.
