Som Hye-In (23), who starred in Mnet's audition program "Idol School," said she broke up with a same-sex lover.

On the 4th, Som Hye-in posted a lengthy post on her Instagram, saying, "I was thinking about how to deliver the message, but I will leave this message. I decided to stop interacting with someone I had a public relationship with for the first time, and I support her on whatever path she chooses in life."

"She is not a friend who works onscreen or the entertainment industry, and the revelation of my relationship has become so popular that many people have been interested with it, so I decided that it's right to post it like this," she went on.

Lastly, Som Hye-In said, "We're just going back to where we were, so I'll still do my best in that position," adding, "I'd like to thank those who have been supportive and interested in my relationship."

Meanwhile, in August last year, Som Hye-In posted a picture of her hand holding her partner's, and kissing her cheeks on her Instagram account. The post revealed the fact that she was dating.

At that time, Som Hye-In said, "In fact, I have a very, very pretty girlfriend," and when it became a hot topic, she said, "It's a coming out. I'm bisexual. I'm gay."

Afterwards, internet users sent messages of support and admiration to the idol's honesty, but some criticized her and posted malicious comments.

Som Hye-In became the talk of the town in 2017 when she participated in Mnet's audition program "Idol School," and voluntarily left the show in the first episode. After getting off the bus, she posted an apology on Instagram and disappeared. She then started her YouTube activities in 2018.

South Korea is one the most conservative countries when it comes to issues concerning the LGBT community. Thus, these individuals have fought hard for acceptance from the society where they belong.

Several South Korean celebrities have openly declared support to the community, such as BLACKPINK's Lisa, Red Velvet's Seulgi, BTS's Jungkook, Sunmi, TWICE's Chaeyoung, and many more.
