K-pop idols are living a life with extreme pressure. Some of them had become severely sick due to stress and fatigue that they opted to leave their groups.
It is never new to the public how K-pop idols live. Their lifestyle and work have caused them to acquire several health problems. With this, some idols choose to temporarily go on hiatus, while others opted to leave the K-pop scene to achieve full recovery.
These K-Pop Idols' Health Problems Caused Them to Leave Their Groups
1. DIA Eunjin
It was recalled that Eunjin personally wrote a letter and posted it on her SNS stating that she was leaving DIA due to fear and anxiety. She revealed that her health has been deteriorating for a year already, and her fear has even caused her not to leave the group's dorm. She never wanted to cause trouble with the upcoming comeback of the group at that time, so she decided to drop out of the group. She also sincerely apologized to the fans.
2. DIA Jenny
Another DIA member who left the group for health reasons is Jenny. MBK Entertainment officially released a statement in 2019, in which they revealed that the K-pop idol is leaving her band. The core reason is her severe knee pain which was diagnosed as Osteomalacia.
Although they have been helping Jenny to recover, doctors have suggested that she should stop promoting with DIA and focus on her ultimate recovery.
3. The Boyz Hwall
In 2019, Hwall's agency announced that he was withdrawing from The Boyz due to some health problems and psychological issues. It was also revealed that he suffered from an ankle injury. Because of these problems, Hwall decided to stop all his activities with the group.
4. Pink Fantasy Aini
Aini was revealed to have difficulties in her choreography practices due to health problems in 2020. However, she did not totally leave her career as a celebrity as she is currently pursuing modeling instead.
5. IN2IT Jinsub
Meniere's disease caused Jinsub to leave IN2IT. This health issue is an ear disorder that is still incurable by Science. There are several symptoms of this ailment, and one of these is hearing loss. MMO Entertainment said on their official statement that his health is their utmost priority, that's why Jinsub had to leave the group.
6. WINNER Taehyun
YG Entertainment formally stated in 2017 that Taehyun would no longer be part of WINNER. It was also mentioned that due to his health problems, some activities of the group were put on hold. It was also mentioned that Taehyun's mental health issue should be given enough focus for recovery.
Stories of how trainees have been emotionally, physically, and mentally tortured since their training days were never new to K-pop fans. However, prioritizing the idols' health problems is vital to make sure that they will be able to get back on their feet.
