1. TWICE's Jihyo
When Jihyo was first introduced to the public on the survival show "SIXTEEN", she was known for having a thicker, curvier figure than the other girls. Though ridiculed by it at times, the idol showed that she is more than her body with her voice, even singing "All About That Bass" during one of the rounds.
When she made her debut with TWICE, fans saw that with each comeback, she was slowly losing weight. It was never a big weight loss and the idol seemed to be taking her time and gradually shedding off the pounds, even gaining some abs. The idol was taking a healthy route to lose weight. She never starved herself and followed a healthy diet and exercised often.
2. Gugudan's Mina
Like Jihyo, Mina was introduced to the public through a survival show. She was first known for appearing in "Produce 101 Season 1". Though well-loved by her cute charms and aegyo, some watchers left negative comments bashing her for her thick arms. Following the show, she made her debut with the project group I.O.I and though she had shed some pounds, she was still known for being on the curvy side.
She started losing weight drastically while promoting with Gugudan. Originally, the idol had very unhealthy diets and revealed she lost 30 pounds by surviving off of two bottles of sparkling water a day. The idol as since spoken out against that diet, saying she only revealed her sparkling water diet to deter people from extreme dieting due to how bad it is for the body. Now, the idol is maintaining the figure she wants with healthy meals and exercising.
3. GFRIEND's Umji
Upon GFRIEND's debut, Umji was praised by some for her adorable visions, while others slammed her for her curvier, thicker figure in comparison to her members. The idol was still young when she debuted, which meant she still had some baby fat. As the group continued to promote, she lost it with all the dancing and training they did. When she shed the weight, netizens were shocked; the baby of GFRIEND has grown into a fine young lady!
The idol takes good care of her figure and has maintained her weight loss. She goes to the gym once a week, sometimes twice a week if her schedule is loose enough. When she first started dieting, she originally thought he had to starve herself, but she knows better now and has chosen to start eating healthy. When she gets hungry, she chooses to eat healthy snacks, such as protein chips and tea. She went on to say that though she felt like exercise was a punishment from her company, the more she saw herself getting healthier, the more she loved it and learned to treasure her body.
