BTS's label, Big Hit Entertainment, had their 2nd quarter corporate briefing for this year and a number of thrilling news came in for the next half of 2020. BTS is undeniably unstoppable despite the pandemic as the agency revealed that the septet will release a new album and new games. Adding to that, three new groups are expected to be unveiled soon!
BTS will become busier in the second half of 2020 as Big Hit's Lenzo Seokjun Yoon announced that the flag bearer of the company will hold both on and offline concerts in October. He mentioned that the fans have been waiting for BTS to hold a concert and they understand it, adding that they have heard the ARMYs' longing. Therefore, they have found ways to give more contents for them.
The concert will exhibit their stage performances from the band's album, "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7." As announced, it is scheduled on October 10 and 11. Further updates are still kept under wraps.
CEO Lenzo Seokjun Yoon also mentioned that the COVID-19 gave lots of negative effects to the South Korean entertainment industry this 2020, such as cancelled major events, to give way to the healing of the country. It is noted that earlier this year, South Korea recorded a high number of COVID-19 cases.
The CEO added that there were some setbacks that the company experienced, however, they have consistently achieved their goals in terms of revenues and revealed that they have earned ₩49.7 billion KRW in profit ($41,978,508 USD) as profit for the first quarter of the year.
BTS is recently announced as the youngest recipients to receive the Korea Society's "The James A. Van Fleet Award", considered as the highest honor awarded to South Korean and American for their unwavering contribution for the society.
