In the K-pop industry, celebrities and idols having stage names are not shocking. Several personalities changed their real names due to various reasons, including having a hard to pronounce the name, avoiding to overlap with a celebrity with the same name, due to fortune-telling or too ordinary to shine so they decided to change it.
Commonly, English stage name such as Red Velvet's Joy, MAMAMOO's Solar is accepted, as well as mononyms including EXO's Suho, BTS J-Hope, SEVENTEEN The8, not to mention stage names consisting of letters only such as BTS V and RM, INFINITE L, VIXX N, etc.
