BTS Fans Canceled Jason Derulo For Allegedly Not Giving BTS Credits Following “Savage Love” Success

Jason Derulo is currently under fire after BTS fans noticed that he allegedly disrespected the group following "Savage Love" success.

On Monday, fans of the BTS, particularly ARMY (fandom name), called out Jason Derulo for having a success-party without giving proper credits to the contribution of the group.

The conflict amidst the K-pop fandom and the "Savage Love" original singer rooted from the song's success itself, wherein Billboard announced that it hit No.1 on Billboard Hot 100, from No.8.

However, despite being the OG performer, it is thanks to BTS as well, because the version that topped the chart was the remix ver. Titled, "Savage Love (Laxed-Siren Beat)", the collaborative project with the K-pop singers along with Jawsh 685.

The song was the second song of BTS that topped the chart, the first time for Jawsh 685, and it also marks the first song of Jason Derulo in 11 years that ever top the chart, following "Whatcha Say?" in 2009.

Thus, to commemorate the success, Derulo shared the party he had along with his friends, only to face backlash for his careless mistake.

On TikTok, he shared clips from their night party, and wrote the caption," It's a celebration #savagelove," and mentioned @hannastocking @ondreazlopez @charlyjordan @itstaylerholder @justmaiko @sommeray @jena @mrmovi3.

That's when ARMYs noticed that the international singer didn't even mention BTS nor tag them. Also, he used the original version instead of the one who topped the charts. As BTS worked hard for the song, the fandom is truly disappointed as it is not only a petty thing to fuss with as it mentioning BTS is a sign of respect and acknowledgment.

Apparently, BTS fans didn't like the point that the singer didn't also say that he only respected BTS due to their power and fandom, as it sounded like he is only working with them due to those things, accusing Derulo that he collaborated with BTS for clout.

As more fans get to know the conflict, more fans are displeased with it, leading to a Twitter hashtag party canceling the singer which says, "JasonDeruloisOverParty."

When the fandom comes at him on TikTok, Jason Derulo posted the same video he shared on the video-sharing platform with a caption, "Wish @BTS_twt @jawsh_685 was here for the celebration. We did it! #1 on the Billboard chart! Savage Love" which Is said to be a damage control move, but ARMYs are not taking it anymore.

Due to this, BTS dropped and claimed that they will not stream for the song anymore, and focused on charting Max "Blueberry Eyes," which he collaborated with BTS Suga.

Jeff Benjamin, a Billboard columnist, and editor expressed his frustration as well, calling out Jason Derulo indirectly with his tweet saying, "Let's be clear. Sure, "Savage Love" was doing well but it only hit No.1 thanks to one move made. If you are celebrating it going number one, you better acknowledge that one move."

The original song which was released in July 2020 was indeed a bop as it gets viral on Tiktok as a dance challenge BGM, but BTS made another version with him, the official music eventually garnered 58 Million views within two weeks, surpassing the original version's 48 Million views within three months.
