The first-ever European and British K-pop Group KAACHI will have their return this November!
Recently, the quartet announced to be coming back in the music scene with a pre-release single titled, "Photo Magic," prior to the release of their first mini-album in 2021.
In their official social media accounts, the photo teasers and concept video teasers are shared, giving their fans and supporters, particularly Uni-K (their fandom name) a sneak peek at what they are preparing under their sleeves as of now.
Looking at their teasers, the girl group is expected to showcase enchanting music and magical performance, as the single will also be released on Halloween week, November 4.
Meanwhile, On October 16, they also sat down with Chosun Ilbo for an interview, in which the members shared their broader view about K-pop and talked about themselves - giving other K-pop enthusiasts a deeper understanding of the group.
In the interview, the members then revealed that they grew up listening to the songs of the "Kings" and "Princes" of K-pop, BIGBANG, and SHINee, respectively.
"We are all SHINee generation," confessing that they grew up in a foreign country listening to the two groups. Chunseo also said that she fell in love with K-pop due to SHINee and BIGBANG around 2010.
Nicole also approved and said, "Who would not love the K-pop group's powerful performance, which can make a four-minute stage a work of art, showcasing a KalGunMu." In context, 'KalGunMu' refers to the knife-sharp moves of the dance, wherein the members of a group have perfect synchronization despite hard choreographies.
Thus, the groups became their K-pop fairies that introduced them to K-pop, and later on, dreamed of becoming like them as well.
In particular, KAACHI is a group comprising Chunseo, Nicole, Dani, and Coco which ages 20 to 26. The multi-national British K-pop girl group is composed of Spanish, Filipina-Spanish, Korean and British members that made their debut under Frontrow Records in April through the song, "Your Turn," which immediately gained 12 Million views despite being rookies.
Their debut is sensational, though not everyone approved of them calling themselves as a K-pop group. They received various backlash and became the target of "cancel culture," for allegedly speaking ill about other K-pop groups and for their lack of training and talent unlike other groups including BTS and BLACKPINK. Also, several members are not Korean except for Coco, as well as most parts of their songs aren't performed in Korean.
Coco said, "In the end, there is room for a positive view in that we have even discussed how to define K-pop. I think K-pop can become deeper and stronger in the process."
However, this comeback will be the evidence of their improvements, the fruit of their efforts, hard work, and passion, which music fans should anticipate. Also, KAACHI members want to become a hope for foreign K-pop fans.
Non-Korean K-pop idols are widely accepted in the industry, considering that you are an Asian. However, K-pop idols who are non-Asians are having a hard time entering the music scene not only due to culture and language barrier but due to the beauty standards that are set.
"I've loved K-pop for more than 10 years, but it's incredibly difficult for a foreigner to become a K-pop singer in Korea," KAACHI said after participating in auditions for large agencies such as JYP and YG before his debut.
"Now we are working day by day thinking that someone can see us and continue their dream. I'd like to tell a lot of overseas K-pop fans not to give up. For them, the value of K-pop will go all the way."
