BTS, BLACKPINK, MAMAMOO Hwasa, and More: 2021 Korea First Brand Awards Reveal Winners

BTS and BLACKPINK have reigned supreme again after they were announced, on Tuesday, Dec. 22, as two of the winners of the 2021 Korea First Brand Awards.

Jin, Jimin, Suga, J-Hope, V, RM and Jungkook, collectively known as BTS, received the Best Male Idol award while Jennie, Rose, Lisa and Jisoo, collectively known as BLACKPINK, were named as the Best Female Idol. Kang Daniel and MAMAMOO member Hwasa were, also, awarded as Best Male Solo Artist and Best Female Solo Artist, respectively.

Stray Kids, which is composed of Hyunjin, Bang Chan, Felix, I.N., Lee Know, Han, Changbin and Seugmin, received that Hot Male Trend award. On the other hand, (G)I-DLE, which is composed of Minnie, Jeon So Yeon, Yeh Shu Hua, Song Yuqi, Choi Mi Yeon and Seo Soo Jin, won the Hot Female Trend award.

Yoo Jae Suk was named this year's Best Variety Entertainer while Cosmic Girls CHOCOME were proclaimed as the Best Idol Unit. Moon Se Yoon and Jang Do Yeon were named as the Best Male and Female Comedians. Former 2NE1 member Dara, on the other hand, was branded as a Beauty Icon.

Korean-American rapper-singer Jessi was announced as the Best R&B/Hip-Hop Artist and a Hot Icon. BTOB member Eunkwang and MAMAMOO Hwasa were named as Best Male and Female Entertainers.

"Save Me! Homes" was proclaimed as the Best Home Variety and Jeon So Min was awarded the as the Best Multi-Entertainer. Lee Dong Wook and Suzy were named as Best Actor and Actress while AKMU member Suhyun and Paul Kim were pronounced as the winners in the Best Female and Male Vocal categories.

TREASURE and Weeekly were named as the Best Rookie Male and Female Idols this year. Lee Do Hyun won the Best Rookie Actor award while Kim Da Mi was conferred the Best Rookie Actress award.

Other personalities who shone this year include Park Ji Hoon as Best Idol Actor, Ahn Bo Yun as Best Rising Star Actor, Han So Hwee as Best Rising Actress, Cosmic Girl member Bona as Best Idol Actress, Lim Young Woon as Best Trot Singer, Kim Soo Chan as Best Trot Entertainer, "Nego King" as Best Web Variety, "Delicious Rendezvous" as Best Cooking Variety, Park Se Ri and Best Sports Entertainer and Baek Jong Won as Best Professional Entertainer.

The awards were based on the results of an online voting participated by over 240,000 consumers from Nov. 9 to Nov. 20, 2020. Korea Consumer Forum hosted the poll to determine the top business brands among consumers, including in entertainment and culture.

Meanwhile, BTS and BLACKPINK were also proclaimed as two of the musical acts with the most views on YouTube, as per kworb.net. Jin, Jimin, Suga, J-Hope, V, RM and Jungkook nabbed the top spot with a total of 6.19 billion views this year, while Jennie, Rose, Lisa and Jisoo took the third place with a total of 4.56 billion views this year.

BTS and BLACKPINK were the only K-pop acts who made it to the top 12.
