Girls’ Generation Taeyeon Receives Divided Opinions Over Her Instagram Story About NCT Haechan

On Monday, Jan. 4, Taeyeon uploaded an Instagram Story asking fans to recommended her anything. One user replied to her story mentioning fellow label mate and NCT member Haechan. Her reply to the question has since received divided opinions. Keep on reading to learn more.

Many fans flooded to Taeyeon's Instagram story, recommending the female idol to watch new dramas, play new games, and even eat new snacks. To these recommendations, Taeyeon answered kindly, taking the time to communicate with fans. She would tell fans if she wanted to try their recommendations or if she had already tried it out.

However, one user decided to use this opportunity to reach out to her favorite, a fellow label mate of Taeyeon's from SM Entertainment. The fan replied to Taeyeon's question by saying, "I am a huge fan of NCT. Can you tell Haechan that I love him?" While probably not expecting a reply, Taeyeon actually shared her response to the question on her Instagram story.

Taeyeon gave a short and simple reply, saying, "Sure... LOL". With that short reply, people could immediately feel just how dumbfounded Taeyeon felt both receiving and answering the question.

Many people applauded Taeyeon for her reply, saying that she handled the situation well and was not at all rude to the fan. People are saying that this made them love Taeyeon even more and questioned what that NCTzen (NCT fan) was thinking of sending that to Taeyeon. Many also mentioned that NCT has their own Instagram account and that they could have easily just commented on the group's Instagram posts.

People also mentioned that'SMTOWN LIVE' Breaks Record as Korean Online Concert with Most Viewers - Here's What You Missed other than the two both being under SM Entertainment, they do not have any explicit co-relation. They have not promoted together as a duo and have minimal interactions together, according to fan knowledge.

However, some people still took this opportunity to slam Taeyeon. Many said that it was unnecessary to put the user on the spot like that, saying that there are probably numerous cases like this with Taeyeon, but with other idols and that there was no reason for her to post it to her Instagram. People are saying that Taeyeon should have just let this comment slide, as it is not rare for fans, especially young fans, to comment on things like that.

What do you think of the situation?

Taeyeon was quite the busy-bee in 2020! On May 4, 2020, Taeyeon dropped the song "Happy". It was originally meant to be released on March 9, 2020, but was postponed due to her father's death on the same day and her grandmother's death in April, a month later.

On Nov. 18, 2020, Taeyeon released her second Japanese extended play titled "#GirlsSpkOut". A month later, she released her fourth Korena extended play titled "What Do I Call You", with a title track of the same name.

Taeyeon was part of the SMTOWN Live "Culture Humanity" concert, where she performed her hit songs. She also performed "What Do I Call You" for the first time.
