SEVENTEEN has recently sat down for a "Mini Masterclass" with GRAMMY Museum to share the qualities, traits, skills, and the "pro-tip" students and young musicians need to acquire to be successful in their music career.
Mini Masterclass is a video series that involves a 10-minute interview with singers and music industry experts from all different genres. The talk covers an array of topics including musical inspiration and process, tips for young musicians, and more.
On Jan. 19 (local time), GRAMMY Museum shared a video of SEVENTEEN's "Mini Masterclass" via its official YouTube channel. SEVENTEEN becomes the second Korean boy band to be invited for the American interview, following BTS, as well as the third K-pop act including GFRIEND. The host for the session was Mark Conklin, a director of Artist Relations & Programming at the GRAMMY Museum Experience Prudential Center in New Jersey, United States.
SEVENTEEN was asked about the skills, qualities, and traits that someone needs to be successful in producing music. Member Hoshi first took note of "effort." He said that "putting in the effort, working hard, and having the perseverance to endure" are the best factors to reach success. He added, "You need to continuously make an effort to improve. And although the process may be slow, it's important to persevere and continue to put in effort in order to grow and arise."
As for Dino, he named three things: passion, love, and expression. He stated that people should express themselves often. "Express your love for yourself as well as for the people around you. I think those are important traits to have as a singer," he continued.

The next question asked was about what SEVENTEEN love most in what they do. DK answered that the best thing for him is that they can be a good influence for CARATs (SEVENTEEN's fan club) and other people while doing something they love. He later mentioned that their fans always tell them that they receive comfort just from seeing them, not only during their performances but also in small actions like posting on social media. And because of that, the Korean boy band felt a strong sense of responsibility to work harder and do better, according to DK.

Jun added, "We're really thankful to our CARATs because each day, we step even closer to our dream and do things that we love. So, each performance is very precious to us, and we want to continue to show something even better with each opportunity."
Mark Conklin then asked SEVENTEEN a "pro-tip" they can give, which students or young musicians can learn and be able to apply in the future. Jeonghan shared, "I'm the type of person who lives by the motto, 'Just go with the flow.' Go with the flow, but continue to proactively put in the effort." Seungkwan said that he thinks believing in oneself is crucial and that people should also take some time to reflect on themselves.
SEVENTEEN is becoming one of the popular K-pop boy bands in the United States with them performing in popular American TV shows such as "The Late Late Show with James Corden" and "The Kelly Clarkson Show." And, three days from now, the group will hold their first online concert.
