Stray Kids member Han was lambasted after some fans found put that he included racist phrases and the N-slur in one of his pre-debut raps. The "God's Menu" hitmaker released an apology statement on Tuesday, Feb. 2, to stop his critics from spreading hate on social media.

Stray Kids' Han Under Fire for Including Insults and Slurs in His Old Tracks

A sound clip making rounds on Twitter featured the K-Pop idol's rap lyrics saying, "Are you a kkamdoongie foreign laborer, you motherf*****g pig bird." Stray Kids member Han was even heard saying "mental patient" and "mental hospital" in some other lines as a diss.

His critics even pointed out that Han stated the n-slur in the latter part of his song. For starters, "kkamdoongie" is an offensive word used to describe people with darker skin. People in Southeast Asia who work in other countries are being referred to as "foreign laborers."

Han uploaded the said track on his personal YouTube channel before he debuted as one of the members of Stray Kids. The video was delete on the popular video streaming website. However, a number of netizens have reuploaded the video on Twitter.

One netizen said that avid fans of Han should not defend him so he could learn from his mistakes. Another Twitter user demanded the "Get Cool" singer to apologize, especially to everyone who got offended by his insulting lyrics.

Stray Kids' Han Apologizes after being Criticized for His Controversial Rap Song

Following the disparagements, Han was quick to release an apology to both his fans and critics. In a statement, the Stray Kids member divulged that he wrote the song in 2013, when he was still 13 years old.

The "Back Door" singer said he wrote the song without even thinking that he could hurt other people, especially for including "inappropriate" lyrics to it. Han, then, said the incident made him recall the very reason why he wanted to become a singer - so he could express his personal thoughts and feelings through music and to connect with the listeners.

Though Han is very much ashamed of himself for what happened, he is fully aware that no one could be blamed but himself. The Stray Kids member added that he would be cherishing all the love and support that his devoted supporters have been showing him from the very start, adding that he would try to become a person who performs on stage with a "righteous heart."

For starters, JYP Entertainment launched Stray Kids in 2017. The group was, originally, composed of nine members, which include I.N. Seungmin, Felix, Hyunjin, Changbin, Lee Know, Bang Chan and Han. However, Woojin shockingly departed the group in October 2019 due to some undisclosed personal reasons.

Han stands as a vocalist and rapper of the group. He, alongside Changbin and Bang Chan, is also a member of pre-debut and songwriting unit called 3Racha.
