These K-pop idols have graduated from the School of Performing Arts in Seoul today!
February is the season where graduation ceremonies usually take place in South Korea and on Feb. 5, the Seoul Performing Arts High School conducted its graduation ceremony for 2002 liners all over the nation, which include several K-pop idols.
Some of the school's alumni consist of Miss A's Suzy, Red Velvet's Joy, EXO's Sehun and Kai, BTS's Jungkook, NCT's Mark Lee, ITZY's Lia, Stray Kids' Hyunjin, AB6IX Lee Daehwi, and GFRIEND's Umji, Yerin, Eunha, and Yuji, and many more.
Below are 11 K-pop stars who have now graduated from the School of Performing Arts in Seoul:
1. Stray Kids' I.N
I.N is the youngest member of Stray Kids and he now becomes the next member to graduate from SOPA, following Hyunjin who graduated in 2019. The male idol studied practical music in the said school. During an interview, I.N said, "I'm glad that I'm finally graduating. I will continue to work hard as a singer."
2. TREASURE's Bang Yedam
Bang Yedam first auditioned in the second season of SBS's reality competition show, "K-pop Star" in 2012, and the following year he joined YG Entertainment as a trainee. He later became part of the company's newest boy group called TREASURE, which made its debut in August 2020. But in June 2020, Bang debuted as a solo artist.
During an interview, TREASURE's Yedam stated, "Thank you for all your congratulatory message. Time really flies so fast when you're busy. The idol studied practical music like I.N.
3. D-Crunch's Dylan
Like Stray Kids' I.N, Dylan is the youngest member of AII-S Company's boy band D-Crunch. He is also one of the vocalists and rappers of the group. He became a trainee in early 2017 and after more than a year, he debuted as an idol. Born and studied intermediate school in New Zealand, the artist is fluent in English.
4. LOONA's YeoJin
LOONA's Yeojin is another youngest member of an idol group. The female singer transferred to the School of Performing Arts in 2019 and studied practical dance. During an interview, the singer stated, "I finally got to graduate in high school. I will work hard to show a new image in the future. I hope you will continue show lots of love."
5. APRIL's Rachel
APRIL's Rachel will also be graduating this year from SOPA. Like LOONA's Yeojin, she is also under the Department of Practical dance in the said high school. Her specialty is ballet and rhythmic gymnastics with a ball. In fact, she competed at ISAC in 2018 and 2019 under the rhythmic gymnastic category.
6. NATURE's Sunshine
NATURE"s Sunshine joins the list of maknaes (youngest) of idol groups, making her part of the "cutie" line in its respective girl group. Although she is the youngest member, she is the second tallest one, just two centimeters shorter than Uchae.
7. Cherry Bullet's Chaerin
Cherry Bullet's Chaerin is another graduating student under the Department of Practical Music, together with Stray Kids' I.N and TREASURE's Yedam. She first became a trainee of Big Hit Entertainment before she joined FNC Entertainment and debuted in Cherry Bullet in 2019.
8. Dream Note's Eunjo
Eunjo is the youngest member of Dream Note, as well as the visual. She was a contestant on the survival reality show MixNine where Yang Hyun Suk (founder of YG Entertainment) was a judge. Eunjo acts as the MC of the group.
9. Weki Meki's Lucy
Weki Meki's Lucy is another K-pop idol who will be graduating under the Department of Practical Dance at SOPA. She is also the youngest among the members. Her specialties include being flexible and tap dancing.
10. Red Square's Bomin
Red Square is among the new idol groups that made their debut in 2020. Bomin is the maknae, visual, and face of the group. She is a former member of Good Day from C9 Entertainment.
11. Former TRCNG's Taeseon
Taeseon is a former member of TRCNG under TS Entertainment who left the group and agency in 2019. He used to go to Hanlim Multi Arts School but he transferred to SOPA.
