BTS Jungkook Selected as The Most Anticipated Idol Born on the Year of the Ox + Full Rankings Here

In a recent survey conducted by South Korean music streaming platform Genie Music, BTS member Jungkook was the artist people are most anticipating in 2021 that was born on the year of the ox. Keep on reading to see the full rankings.

BTS's Jungkook is the Most Anticipated Year of the Ox Idol

On Thursday, Feb. 25, Genie Music announced the top 12 artists that were selected as the most anticipated "Year of the Ox" artists for 2021. Results were determined through a poll that lasted from Fe. 4 to Feb. 22. Sitting at number one is BTS member Jungkook, who snagged 71,077 votes, or 34% of the total votes. Jungkook, who was born in 1997, snagged the top spot with overwhelming support from music fans.

As Jungkook ranked at number one, Genie Music will be donating 10 million won to the Fruits of Love Community Chest of Korea, a social welfare organization. Additionally, Genie Music will organize a banner and a special page to support Jungkook on their website, where fans can send their love and support to the BTS member.

Jungkook has been busy with his BTS activities, but he has dabbled in solo activities. In 2020, Jungkook released the solo song "Still With You" on BTS's SoundCloud as part of the group's yearly debut celebrations. It is free to listen for fans and was produced by Jungkook himself.

BTS released their fifth studio album, "BE," with the title track "Life Goes On" on Nov. 2020. "Life Goes On" debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, making it BTS's third consecutive number-one hit in the United States in three months, making BTS the fastest group to achieve this feat since The Beatles. It is also BTS's third number one hit overall. It is also the first song primarily sung in Korean to hit number one in the country.

BLACKPINK's Rosé is Second

Rosé ranked second place, garnering 48,837 votes, or 23.04% of the total votes. It is no surprise why the female idol ranked so high. As most fans know, Rosé is preparing for her upcoming solo debut. Both domestic and international fans are counting down to her official debut.

Back on Jun. 2, 2020, YG Entertainment announced that Rosé would debut as a soloist in 2020. Specifically, the company announced she would debut as a soloist in Sept. 2020, after the release of BLACKPINK's first full-length album. However, her debut was delayed, and BLACKPINK released their album on Oct. 2020. On Dec. 30, Rosé revealed in an interview with Naver that she would be filming her debut music video in mid-Jan.

Reports have confirmed that Rosé has already completed filming for her music video. On Jan. 26, YG Entertainment released a promotional teaser for the idol's solo debut. Rosé performed her solo song, "Gone," in BLACKPINK's concert "THE SHOW."

As of press time, there is no official debut date for Rosé.
