Which female idol group do you badly want to return to in the music scene?
Among numerous K-pop girl groups, these legendary female groups from the second-gen and early third-gen K-pop era truly became an imprint to other groups, with their bop songs and dances that remained in the hearts of music enthusiasts to date.
Unfortunately, some of the following groups are already disbanded or on an indefinite hiatus, but despite that, there are still numerous fans who are desperately waiting for them to dominate the K-pop scenario completely once again.
Here are the 6 K-pop groups that fans hope will come back as a whole someday.
1. 2NE1
2NE1, comprised of CL, Dara, Bom, and Minzy, immediately captured the music scene as soon as they debuted with a unique sound, style, and skills, rising as one of K-pop's representative girl groups.
Sadly, the group failed to overcome the so-called " seven-year curse," or disbanding after seven years.
In 2016, the youngest member, Minzy, withdrew and in the same year, the remaining members officially disbanded with their single, "Goodbye."
In 2021, Minzy hinted at a possible reunion, later on, cemented by a complete group photo in celebration of her birthday---drawing attention as to what they are preparing for fans.

2. Girls' Generation
Girls' Generation was indeed the best girl group, also referred to as the "Nation's Girl Group," in the mid-to-late 2000s and early 2010s. However, in 2014, seven years after their debut, Jessica withdrew, and in 2017, Tiffany, Sooyoung, and Seohyun moved to other agencies.
However, there is no disbandment confirmed, and the hereinafter eight-member group were occasionally meeting for a member's birthday or variety show. In 2018, a sub-unit Oh!GG! debuted composed of members Taeyeon, Sunny, Hyoyeon, Yoona, and Yuri, after their last releases, "Holiday" and "All Night" as a whole.
In February 2021, it was reported that the members of Girls' Generation talked about their new album. Girls' Generation fans are excited about the possibility of a complete comeback.

3. Girl's Day
While Girl's Day has been gaining popularity since its debut in 2010, they established a stable fandom after releasing "Something" in 2015.
Since then, they received lots of love from fans as they produce hit songs one after another, but after the end of the contract in 2019, the members have been scattered to various agencies, making it difficult to see the entire group activities.
However, the possibility of a full-fledged comeback is slightly higher than that of other groups, as the members are still well-known for their close relationship to the extent that they meet regularly.
4. f(x)
Another girl group formed by SM Entertainment was evaluated as a girl group with good looks and skills that don't lack anything.
f(x) initially debuted with five members, including Victoria, Luna, Amber, Krystal as well as Sulli, who left the world in 2019.
f(x) is not your ordinary girl group as they have a broad scope of music, usually experimental, colorful and unique, unlike the pure or cute and innocent fad during the second-gen era.
In 2019, Victoria, Luna, and Amber left SM Entertainment, putting them in a state of disbandment. The departure of Krystal from the agency in 2020 made it more difficult to see them as a complete group.
However, there's still a chance for them to have a comeback, as the members made it clear that they are not disbanding.
5. I.O.I
In 2016, the first project girl group that was formed through Mnet's survival program "Produce 101" debuted, and it is set that they will only last until January 31, 2017.
Although their short period to promote, the "Nation's Pick" group amassed several fans cheering for them due to their incredible music releases. After their disbandment, the members were scattered to their respective agencies, ending their promise with fans to reunite in five years.
6. EXID
Just like Girls' Day, EXID, who was slowly gaining popularity after their debut in 2012, experienced massive fame with their one-wonder hit, "Up and Down."
After that, the girl group released follow-up tracks that were also loved by K-pop fans. But from 2019 to 2020, EXID members one by one left its agency Banana Culture Entertainment.
Despite having their individual activities in their respective career fields, the members have expressed their longing for each other until recently. Since they are such a good group, the possibility of a complete group seems to be open.
