B.I to Release First Album since Withdrawing from iKON + To Donate All Profits

Kim Hanbin, better known as B.I, is scheduled to launch his first album this March since leaving iKON. This return will be a meaningful one as all profits from his first release will be given as donations.

B.I will be Releasing an Album after Almost Two Years since Leaving iKON

In the past few days, the former iKON member has been giving hints about his upcoming return to the K-pop scene.

On March 9, B.I posted on Twitter for the first time in three years. He shared a white-and-black photo that shows himself in a studio, although his face isn't shown. This picture of him had many fans speculating that he is probably working on new music.

On March 14, he tweeted "start" or "beginnings," and followed it with an "end" tweet the next day. These posts again hinted at his upcoming return with new music after a long time.

Then, on the next day, it was confirmed that he will, indeed, come back to the K-pop industry.

On March 16, B.I's agency IOK Company announced that the male idol will be launching an album titled "Midnight Blue." This will be his first album in approximately two years since he left iKON in June 2019. It will not be a regular album, but instead a donation album as B.I will be donating all of the profits earned, from the sales to copyright royalties, to a non-governmental organization that supports children and youth in need. B.I's album will contain a track titled "Midnight Blue."

A music video teaser was also dropped on the same day as the announcement of his return. Uploaded by B.I's company, 131 Label, the MV teaser shows an animated guy that does sign languages as the music plays in the background.

In the MV teaser's description, it is stated that "Midnight Blue" is a song that will provide "a warm embrace to the audience with a calm piano melody and warm vocal tone." Like a line in the track that says, "I will cover your heart with a blanket in the dark midnight," B.I's new song will bring comfort to those who are enduring pain alone.

The phrase "B.I LOVE STREAMING" was also written in the description, as well as the official release date of B.I's new album - it is set to drop on March 19 at 6 p.m. KST. Aside from "Midnight Blue," B.I's new album will also include tracks that were already released via SoundCloud.

B.I Shares Poster for His New Album "Midnight Blue"

Meanwhile, B.I continues the countdown of his return with a poster for his new album "Midnight Blue." On March 17, the former iKON member uploaded a project poster to the 131 Label Twitter account.

In addition to the title of his upcoming album, the image includes the name of the non-governmental organization, World Vision, to which he will be donating all the profits.

This is not the first time that Kim Hanbin will be giving donations to the organization. He, in fact, has donated millions of won to the NGO World Vision in 2020.

Don't miss out on the release of B.I's new album "Midnight Blue" on March 19 at 6:00 p.m. KST!
