BLACKPINK Surpasses 1.3 Billion Streams on Spotify + Tops Hanteo's Highest First-Week Sales Tally

BLACKPINK continues to prove to the world why they are called the biggest all-female band in recent times. On Monday, March 22, it was revealed that Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo, and Rosé have reached new milestones on Spotify and Gaon Charts. Keep on reading to know more about the group's most recent feat.

BLACKPINK Surpasses 1.3 Billion Streams on Spotify

BLACKPINK is, indeed, one of the most popular groups today. A clear proof of that is them garnering more than 1.3 billion streams on Spotify with their latest EP titled "The Album," which is something that only a few artists could achieve today due to the tight competition in the entertainment industry.

The latest feat of BLACKPINK on Spotify just made the first-ever South Korean female act album to amass 1.3 billion streams worldwide. Jisoo, Lisa, Jennie, and Rosé are also the fastest female group album to break the 1.3 billion streams on the said online music streaming platform.

Most, if not all, BLINKs are aware that "The Album" served as the comeback EP of BLACKPINK in 2020. It the first-ever full-length work of the South Korean quartet since their debut in 2016.

"The Album" is composed of eight songs, which include "How You Like That," "Lovesick Girls" and "Pretty Savage." The said album, also, featured the first-ever collaboration of Jennie, Lisa, Rosé, and Jisoo with Disney alum Selena Gomez and pop superstar Ariana Grande.

BLACKPINK's "How You Like That" also secured the top spot on Spotify's Highest Charting Korean Female Act Songs of All Time. "Kill This Love," "Ice Cream," "Sour Candy" and "Lovesick Girls" wrapped up the Top 5. Other songs by Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo and Rosé that made it to the list include "Bet You Wanna," "Kiss and Make Up," "Pretty Savage," "Crazy Over You" and "Love To Hate Me" among others.

On YouTube, "The Album" by BLACKPINK has also made a new record as the most viewed girl group album on the said online video streaming site. The EP, all in all, got more than 3.3 billion views, pushing "7/27" by Fifth Harmony in the second spot with more than 3.2 billion views as of this writing.

The group's music videos got a total of 1,709,358,256 views while their dance clips got a total of 855,485,903 views. The live performance videos of BLACKPINK, on the other hand, got a total of 304,737,135 views while their audios amassed 470,565,424 views.

BLACKPINK Records Highest First-Week Sales on Hanteo

Meanwhile, "The Album" by BLACKPINK made another achievement after it recorded the highest first-week sales by a female act on Hanteo. Records showed that the latest EP of Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo, and Rosé sold a total of 689,066 copies on its first week.

BLACKPINK member Rosé followed on the No. 2 spot after she sold a total of 393,595 copies of her first-ever solo album called "-R-." IZ*ONE nabbed the Top 3 to Top 5 spots with "Oneiric Diary" with 389,334 sold copies, "BLOOM*IZ" with a total of 356,313 sold copies, and "One-Reeler/Act IV" with a total of 355,267 sold copies.
