On Thursday, Apr. 1, 12 MN KST, K-Pop Radar released their monthly chart that shows the growth of K-pop idols and groups on their social media accounts. BLACKPINK Lisa, IU, TWICE, and more are the female K-pop artists that gained the most Instagram followers in Mar. 2021.
BLACKPINK's Lisa is the Idol that Gained the Most Instagram Followers + BLACKPINK Members and Group Instagram Follow
In the first place, BLACKPINK's main dancer, Lisa, gained 1,871,801 followers in Mar. 2021. By the end of the month, the Thai idol's follower count was reported to be 49,125,353 followers.
Lisa is the most followed female idol on the platform. Her rise in followers is expected to come from new BLINKs and her rise in fame in East Asia due to her role as a dance mentor in iQiyi's "Youth With You 3."
Following Lisa is fellow BLACKPINK member Jennie, who gained 1,714,936 in Mar. 2021. By the end of the month, BLACKPINK's main rapper had a reported 42,289,454 total followers.
Back in Feb. 2021, Jennie was the idol that gained the most Instagram followers, putting her a place down this month.
Rosé, another BLACKPINK member, follows Jennie as the third female idol to gain the most Instagram followers.
In Mar., Rosé reportedly garnered 1,676,427 new Instagram followers. By the end of the month, the "GONE" singer had a final follower count of 38,211,519 followers.
Rosé's spike in followers most likely comes from the popularity of her solo debut with "On The Ground."
The fourth female idol that gained the most Instagram followers is another BLACKPINK member, Jisoo!
Jisoo gained 1,642,078 new Instagram followers in Mar. 2021. By the end of the month, BLACKPINK's lead vocalist has 38,273,937 total followers on the platform.
With her activities with Dior and her photos on the set of "Snowdrop," it is no surprise that she is gaining more followers each other!
BLACKPINK's group Instagram account ranked at number five on the chart, making it the highest growth for a K-pop girl group Instagram account.
The official BLACKPINK Instagram account snagged 1,248,033 Instagram followers. Despite how the girls do not have any group activities at the moment, the numbers continue to rise!
IU is the Female Soloist That Gained the Most Instagram Followers; Jessi Follows
Coming in at sixth place is IU, with gained 659,479 new Instagram followers in Mar. 2021. This makes IU the female soloist (that has never been part of a girl group) to grow the most on Instagram that month.
By the end of Mar., IU's follower count was reported to be 19,606,591.
Following IU is Jessi, who occupied the seventh-place spot.
Jessi rose by ten spots and was ranked at number seventeen in Feb. 2021.
In Mar., Jessi earned 514,857 new followers on Instagram, bringing her total follower count to 5,796,427 followers.
