JBJ95, consisting of Kenta and Kim Sanggyun, has filed a lawsuit to terminate their contracts with their management company, Star Road Entertainment.
On April 15, it was reported that JBJ95 submitted a certification of contents asking for the termination of their exclusive contracts with Star Road Entertainment to the Seoul West Provincial Courts in September last year. The lawsuit was then accepted on April 9.

In the lawsuit, the duo claimed that their agency, Star Road Entertainment, had not given them their own manager for their activities and even forced them to temporarily hire a manager who is not under the company. JBJ95 added that they had to personally manage themselves, hire their own stylists, and schedule their appointments with makeup artists and hairstylists.

JBJ95 also claimed that Star Road Entertainment was sued for unpaid employee wages, as well as unpaid charges to concert organizers. Since the company has not been paying its staff, all employees have allegedly left the company. The duo then asserted that Star Road Entertainment is currently unable to manage them.
JBJ95 further stated that their label had promised them to produce TikTok and YouTube content for the duo, but nothing was pushed through. Hence, besides live streams on Naver's V Live, the band has halted their activities.
Lastly, the duo said that the financial statement they received from Star Road Entertainment was often incomplete and also excluded the advance payment from their album distributor. When JBJ95 approached the agency for violating the terms of their exclusive contracts, the label allegedly asked them to pay penalties for damages.
Star Road Entertainment Responds to JBJ95 Claims Written in the Lawsuit
In response to the issue, a representative from Star Road Entertainment said that while there was no specific manager provided to the duo, there was always a manager at the company. The rep added that even the executives volunteered to take care of JBJ95's activities.

The rep also said that they provided hair and makeup staff when one of the members was filming a movie. However, that member rejected them and personally hired his own staff. The company then asserts that they have proof of the expenses for hiring the staff.
The official also commented on the penalties for damages. They said that this matter was discussed between their legal representatives after they received the lawsuit for contract termination from JBJ95.
The rep of Star Road Entertainment went on to say that they actually scheduled gigs for JBJ95, but the members are the ones declining them. The company concluded that it is absurd for the duo to submit a lawsuit when the label is going through a hard time.
JBJ95 is made up of Kim Sanggyun and Kenta, who both participated in Mnet's "Produce 101 Season 2" back in 2017. They initially debuted as members of the project boy group JBJ and re-debuted as a permanent duo in October 2018.
