BLACKPINK Lisa Adopted Cats and New Dog, But Why is She Getting Criticized for It?

Lisa, who is known for her love for pets, recently adopted a new dog. Along with her cats, the BLACKPINK main dancer welcomes the Doberman pinscher to her "L Family."

Unfortunately, the female star was criticized for adopting her new pets — for this reason.

Lisa raised heated discussion on the web and received criticism from internet users and pet owners after the idol has adopted a variety of cats and dogs with breeds – one after another.

After introducing her new dog on August 7, Lisa was accused of being an animal hoarder. Worse, her personality as a responsible pet owner is also being questioned.

BLACKPINK Lisa Introduces Her New Dog

Recently, Lisa took to her Instagram story the news of her adopting a new dog. In her post, the K-pop star wrote, "INTRODUCING THE NEW MEMBER OF THE FAM - LOVE."

In the photo Lisa's pet cat, Lego, was seen sitting on a transparent table. Alongside the cat is a dog believed to be a Doberman Pinscher, wearing a yellow dog outfit.

The "BOOMBAYAH" singer didn't give more information about the dog aside from its alleged name, Love.

After the addition of a new family member, Lisa now has a total of six pets with her cats Leo, Luca, Lily, Louis, Lego, and dog Love.

Leo is especially famous for his pretty "breeding line" in Scottish Fold, Luca and Lily in Ragdoll, Louis in British Shorthair, and Lego in Abyssinian.

BLACKPINK Lisa Criticized for Only Adopting Pets with Breed

When this point was raised, online users showed signs of discomfort at the news of Lisa only adopting pets with breeds.

In context, variety-breeding dogs often breed within the "family" to maintain their pedigree, maintain a certain appearance, and size, increasing the risk of genetic disease.

This is because critics point out that the death rate is also high, causing controversy over animal abuse.

As a result, there has been a growing movement on the internet recently, saying, "Let's not buy at pet shops that only deal with pretty-looking animals, but raise abandoned animals."

Web users are also concerned if Lisa actually buys her pets from shops, and people find it alarming as she has a huge influence on SNS, gaining more than 50 million followers on Instagram alone.

Lisa even got compared to BLACKPINK Rosé, her co-member, who received praises for raising an abandoned dog named Hank.

On top of that, people also questioned the female star being a responsible owner with netizens commenting, "Aren't you busy with your activities?" "She's like an animal hoarder," and "Lisa, she's so influential. Stop displaying breeds ㅠㅠ"

Still, fans defended the BLACKPINK member, saying, "Anyway, shouldn't you just have to take care of it until the end?" and, "Guys, it's Lisa's money, she can raise them well."
