SHINee's Key Prepares for his comeback in September

At the same time, Key is now gearing up for his first solo comeback in September. It is his first music release in around 2 and a half years. Back on August 30, Key revealed his pre-release single "Hate That..." featuring Taeyeon. It brings out his emotional side.

"Hate That..." is a track that is included in his upcoming album. It is Key's first solo music in two and a half years since his repackaged album "I Wanna Be" was released in March 2019.

The video opens with Key sitting alone in a space station before he makes an escape for Earth when the station starts to malfunction. The clip also features Key singing in the rain, expressing his frustration to a former lover, hoping that they will also feel miserable as he does.

"Hate That..." has been named a "pre-release" single, in an anticipation of Key's upcoming solo mini-album which will come out in September. Right after the song's release, Key took to Instagram to publish some behind-the-scenes shots from the music video. "Hate that is out!!!" he wrote in the caption.

"Hate That..." marks the SHINee member's first solo release in almost three years, since his last single, "I Wanna Be," in 2019. The release was a repackaged version of his 2018 debut solo studio album "Face," it features collaborations with SISTAR's Soyou, (G)I-DLE's Soyeon, and South Korean Singer Crush.

Key debuted in 2008 as one of the members of SHINee, and then he launched his solo career in 2018 with the single "Forever Yours." Key has seen success on his own, he also released a solo Japanese EP in 2018, and he held a concert in 2019.
