A few songs by BTS and IZ*ONE have earned streaming certifications from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ).
On Oct. 25, the Recording Industry Association of Japan has released a new batch of songs that have been certified under the streaming category (dated September 2021), and some of them are K-pop releases.
BTS Receives 4 New Streaming Certifications from RIAJ, Extends Their Record for the K-pop Artist with the Most Streaming Certifications
A total of four songs by BTS have been newly certified in Japan, and these are "DNA," "Permission to Dance," "Friends," and "Save Me."
Both "DNA" and "Permission to Dance" have received platinum streaming certifications, while both "Friends" and "Save Me" have been certified silver.
According to RIAJ's certification thresholds, songs are certified silver once they accumulate 30 million streams, gold at 50 million streams, platinum at 100 million streams, and diamond at 500 million streams.
BTS now has a total of six platinum streaming certifications from RIAJ, and a total of 19 songs that have been certified silver.

Overall, the Big Hit boy group has 32 songs, to date, which have earned a RIAJ streaming certifications.
BTS has extended their record as the K-pop artist with the most tracks that have been certified under the streaming category in Japan.
Meanwhile, over on Spotify, BTS's "Permission to Dance" has recently exceeded 300 million streams. It is the boy group's eighth song to achieve this feat.
The septet has surpassed seven billion streams on Spotify in 2021 alone. This is the group's first year to obtain this milestone.
BTS even reached a new peak in monthly listeners, reaching over 43.75 million listeners, becoming the 28th most-listened-to artist on the platform in the world.
IZ*ONE Extends Their Record as the 4th Generation Group with the Most Streaming Certifications from RIAJ
On Oct. 25, IZ*ONE received a new silver streaming certification for their 2020 song "FIESTA." This is the girl group's third song to be certified silver, following "La Vie en Rose" and "Panorama."
So far, IZ*ONE has a total of seven songs that have been certified in streaming in Japan.

With that, the now-disbanded girl group has extended their record as the only fourth-generation group with the most RIAJ streaming certifications.
Additionally, they are the only fourth-generation group, to date, to have more than five streaming certifications.
The fourth-generation groups that are close to reaching five certifications are TXT and ITZY, both of them have four at this time.
In South Korea, IZ*ONE also has the most certifications from Gaon Chart among the fourth-generation groups, having five Gaon certifications.

All of these certifications are for their albums. They have one double platinum ("Oneiric Diary") and four platinum (Heart*Iz, Bloom*Iz, Color*Iz and "One-reeler/ Act IV").
IZ*ONE has now earned 12 combined certifications from Gaon and RIAJ, becoming the only fourth-generation group to attain this feat.
Furthermore, the 12-member girl group also has the most songs with one million streams on MelOn, the largest streaming site in South Korea. They have a total of 52 songs that have reached one million streams on the platform.
