aespa has been selected as the "Artist of the Month" for October this year by K-pop Radar due to the splendid rise in the girl group's YouTube views and social media followers.

On Nov. 22, K-pop Radar announced through its official website and Twitter account that they have given the "Artist of the Month" title for October this year to aespa.

K-pop Radar explained that one of the main reasons why they chose the quartet is because of the views of aespa's "Savage" music video on YouTube.

In the entire month of October, the YouTube views for aespa's "Savage" MV saw a consistent ascent from the time it was released on Oct. 5 at 6 p.m. KST.

And by Oct. 22, the "Savage" MV eventually reached 100 million views, recording the rookie group's new shortest time to achieve the feat at 17 days, 19 hours and 30 minutes.

"Savage" surpassed aespa's previous hit song "Next Level," which hit the milestone in 32 days, eight hours and 30 minutes earlier this year.

And, as of Oct. 31, aespa's "Savage" MV accumulated more than 107 million YouTube views, becoming the rookie group's most-viewed music video in October 2021.

The four other most-viewed music videos by aespa in the past month are "Next Level" with over 12.5 million views, "Black Mamba" with over 6.7 million views, "Forever" with 823,419 views and "Next Level" (Habstrakt Remix) with 262,004 views.

Aside from the monthly YouTube views of aespa, the positive change in the number of the group's social media followers is another main aspect why K-pop Radar chose aespa as the "Artist of the Month" for October 2021.

According to K-pop Radar, aespa's Instagram followers increased by 580,000, exceeding the cumulative number of 5.88 million followers. The highest record was seen on Oct. 30 with 32,561 followers.

Moreover, the rookie group's Twitter followers increased by 122,000 and their YouTube subscribers rose by 340,000.

Over on Spotify, aespa didn't gain many followers like on other platforms and there was only one peak, which was on Oct. 6 when 24,374 more followers were recorded.

Regarding the most popular songs by aespa on Spotify, the Top 3 are "Savage," "Next Level" and "Black Mamba" in order.

In other news, aespa's "Next Level" seems to not lose its popularity any time soon as the song constantly charts within the Top 10 of MelOn.

On the latest Weekly MelOn chart for the week of Nov. 15 to 21, aespa's "Next Level" climbed down to No. 10, marking its 27th week inside the Top 10.

With that, "Next Level" becomes the first girl group song in history to spend 27 weeks inside the MelOn Top 10.

Additionally, aespa's "Next Level" has now tied with "Eight" by IU and SUGA as the longest-charting song by a female artist within the Top 10 of MelOn's weekly chart.
