HOOK Aiki Revealed to be Discriminated as a Dancer – Here's Why
The supposed history of Aiki being ignored and talked behind her back by other dancers sparked criticisms over the conservative dancer scene. The issue started on an online community with an article on November 25 with the title, "The reason why Aiki was ignored by dancers."
The author cited that Aiki in her 20s had her marriage, followed by childbirth, that was why she started her activities in the dance industry late. Due to Aiki's different entry into the industry, some dancers raised their eyebrows against her, calling her an "outsider" without connection, as she did not act at all or promote her seniors.
Since then, despite Aiki's achievements and records from domestic and international competitions, other dancers didn't want to recognize her.

In response, a fan also claimed that Aiki was discriminated against and shared a shocking story.
"The most shocking comment I heard when Aiki won the 'World of Dance 2019' was, 'A married woman with a child is doing a street dance while doing sports dancing.' It was the sound of people there drinking and talking behind her back at the after-party of the event," the user narrated.
Dancer Ruda, who runs the YouTube channel "Ruda's Dance Lab," also testified of the humiliation of Aiki through a live broadcast.
"I used to hate Aiki. If the dancer does not grow in her own way, I ignore it," he said, referring to the conservative dancer industry.
"Now I like Aiki. I'm ashamed of myself at that time," he said, expressing his respect.
Prowdmon Monika Also 'Cyber-bullied' by Other Dancers – Here's the Reason
Meanwhile, the revelation of HOOK Aiki being discriminated by other dancers surfaced after Monika became a target online by other dancers. In context, the Prowdmon's crew leader earlier appeared in JTBC's "Knowing Bros," where she emphasized that instead of "popping," all movements that pop are called "poppin."
As soon as the episode was aired, dancers called her out online for allegedly giving out wrong information.
As a response, Dancer Ruda said, "I don't know any dancers properly, but I can say that 80% of them don't know the difference, between "poppin'" and "popping."
