iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 Release Date: No Announcement Of Device’s Launch Date Expected At Apple’s World Wide Developers Conference

Earlier reports that the iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 release date will be announced next week at Apple’s World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) are not true, according to a report by the International Business Times.

The annual WWDC has played hosts to several iPhone launches and announcements, and there have been hopes that the iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 release dates will be revealed at the event.

But according to the Business Times, consumers should not have high hopes the iPhone 6 and iPhone 5S will be released next week.

Despite the silence of the tech giant on the next iteration of the phones, a lot of concept renders have emerged on the internet.

Earlier reports say that the next iPhone 6 will feature Retina or IGZO screen display, A7 quad core chip processor, iOS 7, 128GB internal storage, 13 mega-pixel camera, and longer battery life.

Other rumors claim the cheaper iPhone 5s aimed at lower-budget consumers will sport a plastic casing, 4-inch screen display, dual core processor and 8-megapixel camera. It’s also rumored that Apple’s budget phone will support AirDrop as an exclusive iOS 7 feature.

Some rumors say that iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 are one and the same, saying that Apple is still deciding on the name of the seventh-generation iPhone. However, many credible sources point to two new models released at the same period, primarily with one device expected to be a more affordable version of the iPhone.

Earlier reports point to a June launch of the both the iPhone 5s and iPhone 6, with its actual release to occur in September, as with the usual timelines of iPhone launches.

Apple CEO Tim Cook has said that the company will only be releasing new products at the end of this year.

Last week, images of a supposedly iPhone 5S was leaked by Taiwan-based blog, Apple.pro. The look of the alleged new version of the phone is consistent with the description by iLounge editor-in-chief Jeremy Horwitz.

Horowitz said that the cheaper iPhone is “a cross between the iPhone 5, the fifth-generation iPod Touch, and wait for it – the iPod Classic.”
