On January 26, Twitter Korea announced their annual #KpopTwitter stats. It was revealed that in 2021, there were over 7.8 billion K-pop-related tweets made on Twitter. This is 16% higher than the 6.7 billion tweets in 2020. Once again, K-pop has proved its worldwide growth and influencer.
The K-Content craze reached its peak globally in 2022. More and more people drew interest in not just K-pop but Korean moves, dramas, webtoons, sports and entertainment.

Last year, rapper Lee Youngji and actress Lee Seyoung joined Twitter. Additionally, the girls of Mnet's "Street Woman Fighter," Monica, Honey J and Noze, all opened Twitter accounts in 2021, leading to the diversification of K-pop and K-content on Twitter.
With their data, Twitter was able to determine the countries with the most tweets related to K-pop, the rising K-pop artists on Twitter, the countries with the most K-pop fans and the most tweeted about K-pop artists globally.

#KpopTwitter 2021 Announces the Most Tweeted About K-Pop Artists in 2021
BTS was the most mentioned K-pop artist in the world in 2021. Their impact and influence are in a league of their own. During their face-to-face concert, "BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE — LA," held in Los Angeles last year, over 68 million tweets were made by fans worldwide. NCT took second place for the second year in a row.

Several fourth-generation K-pop artists made a remarkable leap to the upper ranking. ENHYPEN, who ranked fifth in the 2020 "Rising K-Pop Artists" list, became million-sellers last year and debuted at number 11 on the Billboard 200. They ranked third in the "Most Tweeted About K-Pop Artists Globally in 2021" list.
Stray Kids and ITZY, who were also selected as "Rising K-Pop Artists" in 2021, ranked in 10th and 16th place, respectively. Meanwhile, aespa ranked in 14th place. This is their first time appearing on the list.

Other artists who made the list include EXO, BLACKPINK, TXT, TREASURE, SEVENTEEN, ATEEZ, TWICE, GOT7, THE BOYZ, IKON, ASTRO, MONSTA X, Red Velvet and SHINee.
