'Game Of Thrones' Author George R.R. Martin Reacts To 'Red Wedding' Reactions: Actors Beg For Mercy To Keep Their Jobs! [VIDEOS]

HBO's "Game of Thrones" continues to get reactions after Sunday's infamous "red wedding" episode, including the author of the books himself, George R.R. Martin.

"I want my readers and I want my viewers to be afraid when my characters are in danger," said the 64-year-old author during his recent appearance on Conan O'Brien's talk show.

"I want them to be afraid to turn the next page because the character may not survive it."

Which is exactly what viewers felt last Sunday, when three major characters were killed off in a matter of minutes during a wedding celebration on the penultimate season three episode of "Game of Thrones."

When Conan asked whether any of the actors asked their character to be spared, Martin confessed yes.

"There was one actress, I won't say her name, who said at [a premiere party], 'Please don't kill me! I don't want to die, I love doing this show!'"

But Martin already knew that her character was dead where the "Song of Ice and Fire" book series currently stand.

In a surreal moment of reflection, Conan played a viral montage video of viewers' reactions as they watched the "red wedding" episode to Martin.

"All of those clips were set up by people who had read the books 13 years ago and knew what was coming," noted Martin.

"I saw a comment under [a reaction video], 'Now you know why your nerdy friends were really depressed 13 years ago!'"
