Mobile Apps Instrumental in Effective Marketing of Small Businesses; Must-Have Apps for Entrepreneurs

Mobile apps have been very helpful in marketing small businesses nowadays.

Mobile Marketing Association shared that mobile marketing can be an effective strategy for small and local businesses. Because of this, the demand for mobile apps for businesses continues to increase.

According to the CEO of MMA, Greg Stuart, "Local merchants have a better opportunity on mobile, in part because they can craft it to fit their business. Most consumers only go about half a mile for dry cleaners."

Through the use of mobile apps, search capabilities have been very quick and more shopping options for clients emerge. With mobile tools available now, companies can easily locate their target audience, thus serve their targeted ads effectively, which can significantly minimize their marketing and ad expenses. A study made by Shullman Research Center found out that 90% of consumers from the US (with household income of $250,000 above) are using mobile apps.

These days, the availability of mobile apps that are useful for business make it easier for companies to identify their target market through their demographic data, address, and spending preferences.

Local businesses and big corporations spend large percentage of their funds in mobile marketing spending, which includes advertisements on handset devices. Last year, more than $6.7 billion are poured in for mobile spending and it increases to $10.46 billion this 2013.

While the traditional marketing strategies still work well for a business, it is necessary for entrepreneurs to get updated with the latest technology and mobile apps that can help them run their business efficiently. For instance, social marketing is very necessary in a local business, thus, mobile apps of giant social media networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and more should be part of the app collection of small business owners. Synchronized and updated files are also important in handling business that's why downloading mobile apps for cloud computing like Dropbox is necessary. Another useful app is the Square, which allows users to accept credit card payments on their mobile phone through the use of the free card reader provided by the mobile app.
