TREASURE Breaks Own Record on YouTube
On Wednesday, March 2, reports revealed that "JIKJIN" already received 50 million views on YouTube.
The track is featured in the K-pop group's first mini-album, "The Second Step: Chapter One." "JIKJIN" also became the group's first music video to receive this many views on YouTube within a short period of time.
Prior to the release of "JIKJIN" on Feb. 15, "BOY" held the TREASURE's record for the music video that had the most views on YouTube.
However, it took "BOY" three months to garner over 50 million views unlike "JIKJIN."
Other TREASURE tracks that also have over 50 million views on YouTube are "MMM," and "I Love You."
TREASURE Talks About Mini-Album, 'JIKJIN'
In February, TREASURE held a press conference following the release of their mini-album, "The Second Step: Chapter One."
Prior to this, Treasure Makers were last treated to an album from their favorite K-pop group in January 2021 when they released "The First Step: Treasure Effect."
During last month's interview, TREASURE Bang Ye Dam said that they worked really hard on their mini-album and a new song. He said that TREASURE always wants to showcase their best image that's why they practiced every day before releasing their mini-album.
TREASURE also went to the studio when they had time, and they also decided what kinds of music works for them and what does not.
Doyoung explained what "JIKJIN" is about, saying that it is a hip-hop song with a powerful and cheerful vibe. The choreography is dynamic. The song is about moving forward and trying new things without second-guessing it.

TREASURE agreed that "JIKJIN" should be their title track because it was different from other songs that were given to them.
Choi Hyun Suk also talked about TREASURE's albums and compared "The Second Step: Chapter One" and "The First Step" series from one another.
He said that "The First Step" still sounded like boys when they recorded their first album. But all of them matured and changed in the last year, and this is what makes their mini-album different.
Jihoon added that "The First Step" was all about signaling the start of their journey as K-pop idols. But "The Second Step: Chapter One" shows that they are getting better at what they are doing.
When asked what their goal is following the release of their mini-album, Yoshi and Bang Ye Dam said that they hope they can win awards, as well as win on music shows.
The latter revealed that there was even a time wherein they prepared an acceptance speech because they really wanted to win but they ended up in second place.
TREASURE consists of Watanabe Haruto, Hamada Asahi, Junkyu, Yoshinori, Choi Hyun Suk, Mashiho, So Jung-Hwan, Jihoon, Doyoung, Bang Ye Dam, Yoon Jaehyuk, and Park Jeong-Woo.
