On March 7, Weeekly held an online showcase to commemorate the release of their first single album "Play Game: AWAKE." The rookie girl group talked about their new music, comeback preparation, and more.

Regarding their preparation, the group recalled the time they were learning the choreography for "Ven para," the title track of their new album. This choreography was made by YGX's Yeojin.

Weeekly Zoa said, "Since 'Ven para' has such intense choreography, we would practice after eating a hearty meal. But, all the members had a difficult time because the dance moves were so powerful." She continued that they would eat less or sleep after practice.

Weeekly Soojin then shared that while learning the steps, her practice clothes were torn apart around two times because the choreography "was so intense."

"I was shocked because this was the first time this had happened. But, since it's also proof that I worked very hard, I felt proud," she added.

Unlike the dance moves for their previous songs which were fun and easy, "Ven para" choreography is much more extreme as they have undergone a bold transformation for this comeback.

In relation to this, Weeekly Soojin commented, "We worked hard to show an image that was 180 degrees different from the past bubbly and youthful images we've showcased. Please anticipate our bold and unstoppable image."

Jaehee added that the group wanted to portray a different side to themselves and hope that they receive responses like "Weeekly adapts well to these kinds of concepts, too."

Meanwhile, Weeekly will only promote as a six-piece group for this comeback as member Jiyoon is taking a break due to health issues, particularly anxiety.

Weeekly Drops First Single Album 'Play Game: AWAKE' Alongside 'Ven para' MV

On March 7, Weeekly returned to the music scene with "Play Game: AWAKE," which is their first music release in seven months since their fourth EP "Play Game: Holiday" arrived on Aug. 4 of last year.

"Play Game: AWAKE" contains three new songs, one of which is the title track "Ven para." The music video for "Ven para" also came out on the 7th.

On the first day of sales, Weeekly's first single album sold a total of 22,203 copies, becoming their highest first-day sale amount since their debut. It is also worth noting that this is the first time that the group surpassed 20,000 sales on the first day as their previous albums sold more or less 10,000.

Another notable achievement is that Weeekly made their first-ever appearance on the Worldwide iTunes Song Chart as "Ven para" debuted at No. 55. The song simultaneously entered the top 30 on the iTunes Song chart in several countries, including Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, and Slovakia among others.

In South Korea, Weeekly's "Ven para" debuted on various domestic music charts. It landed at No. 50 on Genie and No. 17 on MelOn's Latest 24Hits.
