36th Japan Gold Disc Awards Winners: BTS, SEVENTEEN, TXT, More Win Trophies!

The 2022 Japan Gold Disc Awards winners have been revealed, and seven of them are K-pop artists. From BTS to SEVENTEEN, read on to know which other Korean singers took home awards!

2022 Japan Gold Disc Awards Winners: BTS Makes History After Receiving a Total of 10 Awards

On March 14, the Recording Industry of Japan (RIAJ) released the official list of winners of the 36th Japan Gold Disc Awards.

BTS impressively bagged a total of 10 awards this year, making them the first foreign artist in history to do so in a single year.

Aside from taking home the Artist of the Year (Asia) for the fourth consecutive year, the septet also earned Album of the Year (Asia) for their latest Japanese compilation album "BTS, THE BEST" and Music Video of the Year (Asia) for "Map of the Soul ON:E."

In their acceptance speech for Artist of the Year, BTS said:

"We have been awarded 'Best Asian Artist' award for the fourth consecutive year. We are deeply grateful to the ARMY who have always sent a lot of love, which let us receive such a very honorable award. We will continue to do our best to give warm feelings to everyone's hearts with good music."

The "Butter" singers also thanked the staff of Big Hit Music and HYBE, including the label's producer and founder Bang Si Hyuk.

BTS also won one of the Best 3 Albums (Asia) awards at the 36th Japan Gold Disc Awards, along with two other K-pop artists.

Moreover, BTS' mega-hit song "Butter" claimed the awards for both Song of the Year by Streaming (Asia) and Song of the Year by Download (Asia), while the group's collab song "My Universe" with Coldplay received the Song of the Year by Download (Western).

Furthermore, the BTS track got one of the Best 5 Songs by Download awards. Both "Butter" and "Permission to Dance" also each won this year's Best 5 Songs by Streaming Awards (along with Japanese and Western songs).

The two other Best 3 Albums (Asia) awards were given to SEVENTEEN's "Attacca" and TXT's "Chaotic Wonderland."

Meanwhile, ENHYPEN earned the New Artist of the Year (Asia). They also won one of the Best 3 New Artists (Asia) awards together with ITZY and TREASURE, all of whom just made their official debut in Japan in 2021.

ENHYPEN commented:

"Thank you for giving us the wonderful awards of 'New Artist of the Year' and 'Best 3 New Artists.' We're really honored to be able to achieve the double crown. Thanks to ENGENE who always sends us warm cheers. Because of them, we were able to achieve such good results. We will do our best to show you how we have grown so that we can return your love.
