Was Miyeon Really Part of PINK PUNK Debut Lineup? Here's What the (G)I-DLE Member Said

(G)I-DLE Miyeon recently talked about the debut lineup of YG Entertainment's PINK PUNK, where she was rumored to be included together with the BLACKPINK members.

Was (G)I-DLE Miyeon Supposed to Debut in PINK PUNK Alongside BLACKPINK Members? Here's What the Idol Revealed

BLACKPINK - consisting of Rosé, Jisoo, Lisa, and Jennie - is said to have an original lineup of nine members and was supposed to be called PINK PUNK. However, rumors say things didn't work out as planned, hence, only four trainees ended up debuting as YG Entertainment's new girl group.

Besides the four aforementioned idols, (G)I-DLE Miyeon is also said to be part of PINK PUNK. After she debuted as a (G)I-DLE member under CUBE Entertainment, many photos of her training alongside the current BLACKPINK members made rounds online.

There were speculations that she didn't debut in PINK PUNK nor BLACKPINK because of her dating rumor with "MIX & MATCH" contestant and co-YG trainee Jung Ji Hyung.

However, recently, (G)I-DLE Miyeon gave clarifications regarding the debut lineup of PINK PUNK.

On March 15, (G)I-DLE made a guest appearance on "IDDP" on 1theK's YouTube channel. The members looked up their names on the internet and read the information about them.

When it was Miyeon's turn, she came across a sentence that reads, "She was preparing to debut in a group called PINK PUNK together with BLACKPINK's members."

The (G)I-DLE member commented that this wasn't the case like many fans know. She explained that neither of the trainees know who'll get to debut in YG Entertainment's new girl group.

She said, "Actually, we don't know who will make their debut. I have no idea how the lineup will turn out, not until we step on stage."

(G)I-DLE Miyeon's statement suggests that PINK PUNK didn't have a final debut lineup after all as the trainees themselves were clueless about who is part of the group.

(G)I-DLE Miyeon's Recent Solo Activities

Apart from participating in (G)I-DLE's group activities, Miyeon has her own solo activities.

One of her latest projects is singing an OST for the KBS drama "Moonshine," titled "Someday." The soundtrack came out this past February. It is her sixth solo drama OST since her debut.

Currently (G)I-DLE Miyeon is one of the hosts for Mnet's "M Countdown" together with Nam Yoon Su. She has been the MC of the Korean music show since February 2021.

Moreover, Miyeon is also the current DJ of the radio show "Gossip Idle," which started in February of last year.

When it comes to her musical activities, the (G)I-DLE member was featured in numerous songs in October and November 2021.

Last October, she released a collab song titled "Side Effect" with Raiden. "Side Effect" is included in Raiden's first EP "Love Right Back." She was also featured in Super Junior Donghae's B-side track "Blue Moon."

In November, (G)I-DLE Miyeon was featured in rapper Kid Milli's "Kitty." This becomes her latest feature in another artist's song.
