SimCity Mac Version Not Coming Until August, “Not Ready For Primetime Yet”

Unfortunately, fans of the Maxis simulation game will not be able to get hold of their copy of SimCity Mac version because it is going to be delayed until August.

The original release date for SimCity is set for June 11, however, the producer of the game, Kip Katsarelis, announced that it will not be hitting the market yet, saying "We have made this tough decision because we do not believe it is ready for primetime yet. We want to ensure the Mac is a great experience for our players and that is why we are taking more time."

Because of the delay, the producer of SimCity 5 created a gesture to make up for it and that is by extending SimCity Launch Park, which was released in the Update 4 of the game.

Katsarelis tolds, "as a sincere thank you for patiently waiting to play, we are going to extend the availability of the SimCity Launch Park (released in Update 4) to all players who have purchased the Mac version. Now you, too, can launch a Llama balloon. Because who wouldn't want to do that? Thanks again for your patience and understanding."

The SimCity Mac version that was supposed to be released this coming week will allow players who buy the game to access their SimCity using either a PC or a Mac. And the Mac version will also be made available for free to players who already have a PC version of the game.

Furthermore, Katsarelis assured that the Update 5 for SimCity PC version should be available in several weeks time. Aside from working on the SimCity Update 5 for PC, Katsarelis also mentioned that the team is already starting to work on the Update 6.

The SimCity game producer wrote, "On the PC side, we are currently working on a series of multiplayer and multi-city fixes and improvements that will be available in Update 5.In addition to Update 5, we are already beginning work on Update 6, which will focus on RCI improvements, a lot of which we've gathered from fan feedback on our forums."
