BTS to Fly Back to Korea Without RM - Here's Why the Group's Leader Is Yet to Return

On April 18, the Korean media outlet Sports Kyunghyang released an exclusive report about BTS's return to South Korea.

In late March, the septet flew to the United States to complete their scheduled activities in Las Vegas.

In particular, BTS attended the 2022 Grammy Awards, where they were nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with "Butter." They were also one of the performers at the music awards ceremony, impressing the audience with a spectacular performance of "Butter."

Although the K-pop act failed to take home an award, the members are grateful for being part of this year's Grammys.

Aside from their Grammy appearance, BTS also held their "PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE - Las Vegas" concert for four days. It took place at the Allegiant Stadium from April 8 to 9 and April 15 to 16.

According to Sports Kyunghyang, BTS will depart from the Los Angeles International Airport on April 18 (Korean time) and will arrive at Incheon International Airport in the early morning of the 19th.

The news outlet added that RM was not included in the schedule of the boy group's return to Korea. It is said that all BTS members, except for RM, have completed their schedules in the United States.

This means BTS RM has another activity to finish before he goes back to Korea. However, Sports Kyunghyang didn't mention what activity it is.

As of this writing, Big Hit Music has not yet released an official statement to reveal why RM stayed in the United States.

BTS Comeback 2022 - Group to Release New Album

In other news, BTS has announced their much-anticipated comeback with a new album.

On April 17, the septet's agency took to Twitter to share a montage video teasing that something special is coming on June 10.

The clip was first unveiled at their final concert in Las Vegas on April 16 (local time). At that time, the cryptic messages "WE ARE BULLETPROOF" and "2022.06.10" appeared on the screen, exciting the fans on what's about to come.

The uploaded video shows BTS's past songs released since their debut, including "No More Dream," "Fire," "Blood Sweat and Tears," "DNA," and more.

Together with the video, Big Hit Music posted a statement on BTS's fan community Weverse revealing that the group will return on June 10 with a new album.

The company said that details on the new album will be provided in a separate notice at a later date.

The upcoming album will mark BTS's first comeback in 11 months since their digital single "Permission to Dance" came out in July of last year. Additionally, it will be the group's first Korean album in almost two years since their fifth studio album "Be" was released in November 2020.
