CL Shares Reason Behind 2NE1's Reunion at Coachella

On April 16 local time, CL was one of the performers at Coachella as part of 88rising's "Heads in The Clouds Forever" set. However, the crowd was surprised to see that CL was joined on stage by her fellow 2NE1 members Park Bom, Sandara Park, and Minzy.

The quartet lit up the venue with an energetic performance of their iconic song "I AM THE BEST."

2NE1's appearance at Coachella marks their first group performance in more than six years since they performed at the 2015 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA).

On April 18, CL took to her personal Instagram account to talk about the girl group's recent appearance at Coachella. In a lengthy post, she unveiled the reason for their reunion together with several photos of them on stage.

Below is CL's post:

"I am grateful and blessed to be alive with pleasure. Long enough to witness the marks I make and things I create blossom.

After I received an invitation to [perform at] Coachella, I really wanted to invite the members too because I wanted to see us reunite on our terms before it's too late.

I wanted to relay my gratitude to everyone who has been giving support and love to 2NE1 for the past 13 years through this stage performance.

For that very reason, today was the most important and meaningful day for me.

I hope you could relive the past emotions that you felt through us, thanks to this moment today.

I am once again grateful for the members who dazzled today's performance and everyone who worked together to make this come true.

I will keep running until the day we can perform for an entire hour on this stage."

As of this writing, CL's post about 2NE1's reunion at Coachella has garnered more than 430,000 likes and 7,000 comments.
