aespa Confirmed as Performers for Coachella 2022's Main Stage
On April 19 KST, it was announced that SM Entertainment's rookie girl group, aespa, is set to perform at the main stage of this year's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival (hereafter referred to as Coachella)!
Coachella is the largest and highly popular outdoor music and arts festival held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California in the Coachella Valley every year. The festival features many artists of different genres including electronic dance music, indie, rock, hip hop, and more, and over 200,000 festival-goers coming from all around the world.
The nearly week and a half long music festivity was kicked-off back on April 15, and is set to conclude on April 24, with 120 artists performing this year, including Harry Styles, The Weeknd, Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion, Billie Eilish, Pink Sweat$, Joji, Conan Gray, and more.
Korean groups Epik High and 2NE1, and GOT7's Jackson Wang and BiBi also performed at this year's Coachella.
aespa will be one of the artists set to end Coachella with a bang. Winter, Giselle, Karina, and Ningning will be performing on the second to the last day of the festival, on April 23 local time. They are the fifth Korean artists at the event.

According to reports, the four-member girl group will be performing their hit tracks "Black Mamba," "Next Level," and "Savage," and is reportedly debuting an unreleased and specially prepared song at the festival.
aespa's upcoming performance at Coachella also marks a new feat for the girl group. They become the third female K-Pop group to perform at the festival, and also the first fourth-generation group to do so.
Meanwhile, aespa's performance at Coachella 2022 will be streamed live through the festival's official Youtube channel.

In other news, aespa's latest release as a whole group was back in December 2021, with a remake of their labelmate seniors S.E.S's track "Dreams Come True." This is part of SM Entertainment's remastering project and the label's "SMTOWN 2022: SMCU Express" project.
"Dreams Come True" was released through SM Station and served as a pre-release track to SM Entertainment's 2021 winter album, "2021 Winter SMTOWN: SMCU Express."

Aside from their release as a group, members Karina and Winter also made their debut as part of SM Entertainment's female supergroup, GOT The Beat.
The group, which consists of BoA, Girls' Generation's Taeyeon and Hyoyeon, and Red Velvet's Wendy and Seulgi, made their debut on January 3, 2022 with the single "Step Back."
