Is the magic of Hollywood duo, Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson long past its peak? Are the "Wedding Crashers" crashing at the box office of their new movie, The Internship?

According to the Los Angeles Times, here's the Hollywood math on Friday, June 7: Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson do not equal "The Purge." The low-budget horror film from Universal Pictures, and starring Ethan Hawke, was made for a reported $3 million and is on track to nearly double the opening weekend of "The Internship," which has Vaughn and Wilson as stars.

As reported by Gitesh Pandya from Box Office Guru, "The Purge" took in over $3 million on Thursday night. The film is a home invasion thriller that takes place in the near future, when all U.S. laws are suspended for one night each year to allow for the title cleansing (in this case, murder, mayhem and more horrible things). Ethan Hawke stars in the film, which was made for a reported $3 million.

The surging numbers for "The Purge" come at the expense of "The Internship." According to the Los Angeles Times, that film will only gross between $12 million and $15 million for the entire weekend, roughly half of what is expected from "The Purge."

As Deadline.com noted, "The Internship" has even fallen behind "Now You See Me" in online ticket sales. Last time Vaughn and Wilson got together, the results were very different. The duo starred in 2005's "Wedding Crashers," which earned $209 million in North America.
