"A Wild Rose" is an emotive seven-track mini-album of solid, melodic pop midtempos, each conveying their own delicate love and heartbreak stories. The lead track "Hiding Words" is a sorrowful and cinematic ballad which casts RYEOWOOK as a broken-hearted man preparing to break up with his lover. Elsewhere there are more suitably springtime tunes like "Crying" - a wistful, rhythmical acoustic guitar and piano number - and "Bluebird", a bluesy track about a passive love story, co-written by Ryan Jhun, who previously worked on tracks for SUPER JUNIOR, SHINee and NCT. "To Me" is a modern rock track, and "Everlasting Love" is a classic power ballad with RYEOWOOK professing his unending affection and vowing to protect his lover forever. "Angel's Wing" is a pop genre track, which compares a wounded heart to losing your wings, while "My Dear" is a sentimental ballad expressing everything RYEOWOOK would like to say to a loved one when they are reunited.
