Soyeon Says (G)I-DLE Members Eat Lollipops Before "TOMBOY" Performances - Here's Why
On May 4, (G)I-DLE Soyeon appeared as a guest in the latest episode of the MBC variety show "Radio Star," along with PSY, Lee Seung Yoon, and Sung Si Kyung.
During the talk, Soyeon brought up an interesting fact about their preparation prior to their "TOMBOY" performance on any music show.
She pointed out that the choreography for the song includes sticking out their tongues. In order to let their tongues stand out, the members always coat their tongues with bright red candy while backstage.

Jeon Soyeon said, "Our choreography involves sticking our tongues out, but because the stage lighting is so bright and white, our tongues always turn out to be white on camera, even after carefully using a tongue cleaner beforehand."
She then revealed that the (G)I-DLE members always eat lollipops 10 minutes before going on stage, so in that way, their tongues would look red on camera.
"We always use lollipops that stain our mouths bright red, and we dye our tongues with it as if we're brushing our teeth," the rapper shared.

(G)I-DLE Soyeon went on to say that the stain gives them confidence when performing "TOMBOY" on music shows.
She later revealed that there are times when she forgets to stain her tongue with a lollipop before their performance. As a result, she would only stick out her tongue a little and bite it.
In addition to eating lollipops, Jeon Soyeon also told another story about "TOMBOY" during the recent episode of "Radio Star."
She revealed that she let PSY listen to the demo of the song before the staff at the company.

"PSY told me, 'This is good. I think this will be a hit.' I gained lots of strength from hearing him say that, and so I brought the song to the company," she shared.
(G)I-DLE Soyeon further said that as soon as the company producers heard "TOMBOY," they immediately liked it and said that it would serve as the title track.
"TOMBOY" is the title song of (G)I-DLE's first studio album "I NEVER DIE," which was released this past March.

(G)I-DLE's "TOMBOY" Becomes Group's Fastest MV to Reach 100M Views
In related news, (G)I-DLE's "TOMBOY" music video has become their fastest MV to hit 100 million views on YouTube.
On April 30 before 8 a.m. KST, the number of views for "TOMBOY" MV crossed 100 million, becoming the group's fifth music video to reach the mark after "LATATA," "Oh my god," "HANN," and "LION."
(G)I-DLE's "TOMBOY" MV was uploaded on March 14 at 6 p.m. KST. This means the video took less than 46 days and 14 hours to garner 100 million views on YouTube. This is the group's new shortest record.
"Oh my god" was initially the group's fastest MV to achieve the feat, doing so in almost 93 days and 13 hours.
