On May 13, CEO Park Geun Tae told many stories in a recent StarMaker interview with Star News.
During the conversation, the founder of Beyond Music company brought up the story of Baekhyun and Bae Suzy's collaboration song "Dream" among various behind-the-scenes stories related to his numerous hit songs.
CEO Park Geun Tae then drew attention by revealing that he personally selected the two idols for the song and said:
"The collaboration was achieved because I personally recruited Baekhyun and Suzy.
We had no problems from both sides so we proceeded with the two singers. The reason I got permission (from them) was music.
They both had potential as solo artists and they were already working on their own OSTs at that time, but they didn't have a chance to do it together, so I asked both agencies. (SM and JYP)
In regards to why he selected Baekhyun and Suzy, Park explained:
"I wrote this song with those two singers in mind. It's not something that's already been made. (No matter how good the song is) you have to consider that the singer can sing, on top of the song and concept being good.
But I played the song to the singers with confidence in recruiting them. I already have this image (of the song being sung) with beautiful and handsome idols. The song also has a fluttering feeling and a subtle feeling that doesn't feel down or sad. It's not too much, but it's just like flirting."
