May 2022 K-pop Comebacks (From 11th to 17th)
Ciipher "Fame"
RAIN Company's first boy group Ciipher made their first comeback this year with their third mini-album "THE CODE." Released on May 11, "THE CODE" features a total of six songs, one of which is the title track "Fame."
Ciipher's "Fame" is a future pop genre dance song that conveys the resolution of not losing hope while constantly moving forward even in hard situations.
TXT "Good Boy Gone Bad"
Another K-pop comeback that took place this week is that of TXT. The five-piece boy group dropped their fourth mini-album "minisode 2: Thursday's Child" on May 9. Out of the five songs in the EP, the one titled "Good Boy Gone Bad" serves as the title track.
TXT's "Good Boy Gone Bad" is a hardcore hip hop genre song that is about a "good boy" undergoing dark emotional changes after experiencing breakup for the first time.
ASTRO "Candy Sugar Pop"
On May 16, ASTRO returned to the K-pop scene with their third studio album "Drive to the Starry Road." There are a total of 11 tracks in the album, including the title song "Candy Pop Sugar."
A sweet and bright song, ASTRO's "Candy Sugar Pop" gives off a playful and refreshing energy. The boys sing the phrase "Candy Sugar Pop" as a nickname for a lover.
Girls' Generation HYO "DEEP"
Girls' Generation member HYO (or Hyoyeon) is also included in this week's lineup of K-pop comebacks. She released her first mini-album "DEEP" on May 16 as well.
The mini-album contains seven songs, including the title track of the same name and her previously released songs like "Sober," "Dessert" and "Second."
An EDM dance song, HYO's "DEEP" is about Hyoyeon falling deeper in love, with the lyrics wittily comparing the exciting feelings of falling more deeply for someone to a predator's hunt for a prey.
TNX "MOVE" (Debut)
Apart from K-pop comebacks this third week of May, there's also a K-pop group that made its highly-awaited debut, and it's none other than P Nation's very first idol group, TNX, which is a boy group consisting of six members.
On May 17, the rookie group released their first mini-album "WAY UP," which has five songs including the title track "MOVE." TNX's "MOVE" consists of lyrics that are about creating your own way through difficulties to reach success.

Girls' Generation Comeback
One of the noteworthy K-pop news this week is Girls' Generation's comeback as a full group. On May 17, SM Entertainment announced that the legendary girl group will release a new album in August in celebration of their 15th debut anniversary.
BIGBANG G-Dragon, BLACKPINK Jennie's Alleged Breakup
On May 16, a media outlet released an article about BIGBANG G-Dragon's private Instagram account (@peaceminusone) no longer following BLACKPINK Jennie's main and secondary (@jennierubyjane and @lesyeuxdenini) Instagram accounts.
What made this a big deal is that BIGBANG G-Dragon was still following the other three BLACKPINK members. His action had many people wondering whether their rumored relationship has ended.
TWICE Members Launch Personal Instagram Accounts
On May 17, TWICE surprised many fans when they announced that all nine members have launched their personal Instagram accounts seven years after their debut.
