All K-pop idols, either active or inactive, have undergone a serious training process before they could debut. Some of them, including idol group members, spent several years as a trainee. However, there are instances wherein K-pop idols end up leaving their group even after training for so long with their fellow members. Sometimes, artists leave their team just less than a year after their debut.
12 K-pop Idols Who Left Their Group a Few Months After Debut
HyunA
Many fans may have known HyunA when she was still a 4Minute member, but she was actually part of Wonder Girls first. Wonder Girls debuted in February 2007, and only five months later, HyunA was withdrawn from the band by her parents due to health concerns, such as fainting spells and chronic gastroenteritis.
Somin (APRIL)
After her initial group Puretty disbanded in May 2014, Somin re-debuted as a member of DSP Media's girl group APRIL in August 2015. But, she was only a part of the group until November 2015 as she wanted to discover more about what she can do.

Junhyeok (DAY6)
As the group name suggests, DAY6 originally consisted of six members. The rock band debuted in September 2015, and only five months later, Junhyeok withdrew from the team and terminated his contract with JYP Entertainment due to "personal reasons."
Jiin and Jisun (Girl's Day)
Girl's Day was launched as a quintet in July 2010. Just two months later, members Jisun and Jiin departed from the group to pursue their individual goals. Hyeri and Yura were then added to the group as their replacements.
Iera, Nayeon, and Subin (Berry Good)
Berry Good had five members at the time they were launched in May 2014. Unfortunately, the girl group lost three members all at once as Subin, Iera, and Nayeon left the band in January 2015 to focus on their studies.

JoA and Leeseul (Stellar)
Stellar debuted in August 2011 with four members. Leeseul and JoA, however, left the group in January 2012 to form a ballad group called Honey Dew. As a result, the company added two new members, namely Hyoeun and Minhee.
Jaeseok (Golden Child)
Golden Child debuted as an 11-member boy group in August 2017. Sadly, they are now just a 10-piece group as Jaeseok left the team five months after debut due to health issues and great pressure he was feeling. The company didn't provide further information regarding his health.

Seunghee (DIA)
Finally, we have the girl group DIA that debuted with seven members in September 2015. Unfortunately, Seunghee (who was the last trainee to be added to the debut lineup) was announced to have departed from the band in April 2016. In February 2018, Seunghee revealed that she left the group and label because she was unable to overcome her slump and didn't want to be a hindrance to the agency and her members.
