In K-pop groups, members may have the same personalities, but they also have differences and that includes their training periods. Training time is something that typically differs, where some members had several years of training, while others only had months.

Here are 10 K-pop artists who had the shortest training period in their own groups.

BLACKPINK Rosé

Among the four BLACKPINK members, Rosé is the one with the least amount of training time. She was a trainee for approximately four years since she joined in 2012 after passing YG Entertainment's audition in Sydney, Australia.

EXO Baekhyun, Chen

EXO has two members with the shortest training time, and they are D.O. and Chen. These two only trained for four months since joining SM Entertainment in late 2011. They officially debuted as two of the three main vocalists in the group in April 2012.

BTS Jimin

Park Jimin is the BTS member who trained for the shortest period. He only spent less than a year of training before his debut. In particular, he was a Big Hit trainee for just six months before he debuted in June 2013.

TWICE Mina

Among the nine TWICE members, Mina had the shortest training time. She underwent a training program for less than two years. She was scouted by JYP Entertainment in 2013 and then debuted in October 2015.

Chenle had the least amount of training period among the 23 NCT members. While most of the members trained for multiple years, his training only lasted for two months. He particularly debuted as an NCT Dream member in August 2016, so this means that he just started training two months prior.

Red Velvet Joy, Wendy

Like their labelmate EXO, Red Velvet also has two members who had the same training period. Joy and Wendy trained for nearly two years. Both of them were accepted as trainees at SM Entertainment in 2012.

Another male K-pop idol who was a trainee for less than a year is GOT7 Youngjae. In particular, his training only took place for seven months before debuting as the group's main vocalist in January 2014.

LOONA Olivia Hye

Believe it or not, Olivia Hye was a trainee for only a day before her debut. LOONA was launched on Aug. 19, 2018. So this means that she trained for just the entire day of Aug. 18. She may be the record holder of the shortest training time among K-pop idols in history.

SEVENTEEN The8

The8 is the SEVENTEEN member with the shortest training period. He was a trainee for less than two years or one year and five months. He was scouted by Pledis Entertainment around 2014 while he was breakdancing at Beijing Contemporary Music Academy.

ITZY Lia

The ITZY member who trained for the shortest time is Lia. She was a trainee for almost two years since she joined JYP Entertainment in 2017.
