SEVENTEEN's "Face the Sun" has recorded an outstanding first-week sales figure on the Hanteo Chart, which only BTS attained in the past.

SEVENTEEN's 'Face the Sun' Records 2 Million First-Week Sales on Hanteo
In the afternoon of June 2, Hanteo Chart announced that SEVENTEEN's "Face the Sun" had exceeded two million album sales, after it arrived on May 27. The studio album reached the mark at approximately 4:20 p.m. KST on that day, earning the group a double million seller title.
SEVENTEEN's first-week sales period for "Face the Sun" ended on June 2 at 11:59 p.m. KST, and the total copies hit 2,067,769 copies, which is nearly twice as much as the group's previous first-week sales with "Your Choice."

To recall, SEVENTEEN almost doubled their first-day album sales with 1,758,565 copies sold on May 27, obtaining their fourth million seller title and breaking their previous first-day sales record of 881,788 copies sold by "Your Choice." This already signaled a new career-high for the group in terms of first-week sales.
Even before the official release of "Face the Sun," high interest of fans was already seen in terms of the stock pre-orders volume. The studio album surpassed two million pre-orders on May 20 - marking the group's highest number of stock pre-orders so far.
With over two million copies sold on Hanteo, "Face the Sun" has made SEVENTEEN the second artist in Hanteo history to cross two million sales in the first week of release.

Other than that, "Face the Sun" is now the K-pop album in history with the fourth-highest first-week sales. It surpassed BTS' "Butter," which only sold 1,975,363 copies in the first seven days.
"Face the Sun" now comes behind BTS' "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7," "BE," and "MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA."

SEVENTEEN's 2 Million First-Week Sales on Hanteo Becomes Hot Topic Online
After it was revealed that SEVENTEEN's "Face the Sun" reached two million album sales on Hanteo, one netizen took to a Korean online community to share the big news.
Other netizens who saw the post were impressed with the sales figure and congratulated the group on their accomplishment. Some of the comments are, "HYBE did a good job with its boy groups. It's only two groups that sold over 2 million in the first week, BTS and SEVENTEEN," "Congrats on selling over 2 million copies in the first week," "SEVENTEEN is the best," "Wow, I can't believe SEVENTEEN is the second group to surpass 2 million copies in the first week," and "This is awesome. Good job, SEVENTEEN!"

On Twitter, the boy group's fans collectively called CARAT congratulated the boys by trending the hashtag "#FaceTheSun_2MSeller." This hashtag peaked at No. 3 in the trending topics in South Korea and peaked at No. 44 in the worldwide trends.
Meanwhile, on the day SEVENTEEN's "Face the Sun" recorded two million sales on Hanteo, the boy group earned their first trophy for the album's title track "HOT."
On the June 2 broadcast of Mnet's "M Countdown," "HOT" was a first-place nominee along with Kang Daniel's "Upside Down." "HOT" eventually won with a total of 7,718 points.
