BTS' "Proof" First-Day Sales Become Second-Highest Total in Hanteo History

On June 10, BTS officially dropped their anthology album "Proof," marking their first comeback in 11 months since the release of their third English single "Permission to Dance" in July of last year.

Hanteo Chart announced on the same day that BTS's "Proof" album sales surpassed two million copies on the first day. To be precise, a total of 2,155,363 copies were sold - marking the second-highest first-day sales in Hanteo history. The record was previously held by BTS's own album "BE," which sold 1,950,106 copies on Nov. 20 back in 2020.

"Proof" is now not only the K-pop album with the second-highest sales on the first day of release, but also the only second K-pop album to reach the two-million mark (following BTS's "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7").

What's more worth noting about this milestone is that the figure isn't far off from BTS's second-highest first-week sales record of 2.27 million copies, which the group attained with "BE (Deluxe Edition)." This record only comes behind BTS's "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7," which sold 3.37 million copies in its first week.

After earning their first million-seller title in 2016 with their second studio album "WINGS," BTS has constantly sold more than 1.13 million copies with each of the albums they release in the past six years.

As BTS still has six more days left before their first-week sales with "Proof" ends, it remains to be seen whether the anthology album will create a new history and surpass "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7" as the best-selling work in the first week in Hanteo history.

BTS's "Proof" features a compilation of the septet's past title songs, several solo and unit tracks, unreleased songs, demo versions, as well as three new tracks "Yet to Come (The Most Beautiful Moment," "Run BTS," and "For Youth."

Congratulations to BTS on their new historic achievement with "Proof"!
