BIGBANG G-Dragon Dishes on His Driving Force, Flower's Symbolism, Core Value, More

Will G-Dragon continue to make music in the future? In a recent interview with Vogue Korea, the BIGBANG leader talked about his driving force as a musician and individual, what flowers mean to him and his core values.

On June 15, the fashion and lifestyle magazine Vogue Korea released its interview with "King of K-pop" G-Drahon who graced its cover for its 20th-anniversary edition.

In particular, the K-pop icon answered questions from the magazine diligently through voice recording, where he revealed his insights regarding his status as a pop artist, public figure, and more.

G-Dragon Reveals Driving Force as Person & Musician: What's the Difference?

During the talk, the "BLACK" singer opened up on his driving force as Kwon Jiyong and as G-Dragon, saying:

"I would say that it changes from time to time. But as a person, Kwon Jiyong is driven by dreams and values. As a musician, G-DRAGON is similar (to Kwon Jiyong) but he is empowered and nourished by the fans."

Following the group's hiatus, there are concerns about whether G-Dragon will continue to make music or will slowly step down from the music scene.

Through the interview, he hinted at his desire to pursue his passion.

"I got to where I am today because of music, that's why I will continue to make music for all the people who have repaid my efforts with love.

As I continued to try to protect the standards, absolute values and precious people I set and deeply care about, I was able to pay more attention to details and was motivated to do better."

BIGBANG G-Dragon Explains Love for Flowers, Their Symbolism

As the interview went on, the magazine mentioned how flowers are often incorporated into their album or song's concept, such as "Flower Road" and "Still Life."

Thus, when asked what aspect of flowers and what's the reason he's attracted to them, Kwon Jiyong described its symbolism to him.

"My appreciation and idea of flowers are still the same. It is both beautiful and heartbreaking.

A flower with the same shape can convey different emotions. It somehow projects how I felt when I looked at that certain flower at that moment."

The "Haru Haru" singer then confessed his love for flowers since childhood.

"I took a liking into flowers since I was young. It makes me feel comfortable and gives me new inspiration. When I look at it, I sometimes think a lot, and rather, I don't think about anything and get drunk on its beauty. Even when working and resting, flowers embrace me with the right energy and scent."

G-Dragon Talks on Core Values

Before the interview ended, the fashion icon and top-tier musician also mentioned his core value.

"(My core value at the moment) is not diluting my original value. At the same time, to create new values from what I have now. I don't want to distinguish between the two.

All values of life are important. I also think a lot about purely accepted values these days. I think it's all precious to give everything to make your own unique value that can't be exchanged for anything."
