7 K-Pop Girl Groups That Lost Several Members

These eight K-pop girl groups saw line-up changes after several members left the group.

1. Brave Girls

Brave Girls has had six members leave the group. The current members, Minyoung, Yujeong, Eunji, and Yuna, are not part of Brave Girl's original line-up.

In 2016, Eunyoung, Seo-a, and Yejin left Brave Girls after two years of inactivity, with only Yoojin and Hyeran remaining with the group. Five new members were added to the group, which includes the current members of Brave Girls and Hayun.

In January 2017, Yoojin and Hyeran left the group. Yoojin left to pursue acting, while Hyeran left due to health concerns.

In August 2018, Hayun took a hiatus due to health reasons. In March 2019, it was announced she had left the group. Hayun revealed in 2021 that she left due to a thyroid condition.

2. MOMOLAND

MOMOLAND has had three members leave the group: Daisy, Taeha, and Yeonwoo.

In March 2019, MOMOLAND released "I'm So Hot" without Daisy and Taeha, who were absent due to health concerns. In September, they released their Japanese album, "Chiri Chiri," without Daisy, Taeha, and Yeonwoo. Yeonwoo was focusing on acting at the time.

In November 2019, MLD Entertainment announced Yeonwoo and Taeha had left the group, with Taeha leaving MLD Entertainment. At the time, Daisy's future with the group was tentative.

In January 2020, Daisy entered a legal dispute with MLD Entertainment. As a result, she left the group on May 13, 2020. She ultimately won the legal battle.

3. Cherry Bullet

Cherry Bullet has had three members leave the group: Mirae, Kokoro, and Linlin.

In December 2019, FNC Entertainment announced that after discussions with the three members, it was decided they would end their activities with Cherry Bullet and terminate their exclusive contracts.

No reason was given for their sudden departure.

4. Pink Fantasy

Pink Fantasy has had three members leave the group: Aini, Yubeen, and SangA.

In April 2020, MyDoll Entertainment released a statement saying Aini left the group due to health concerns. In June 2020, the company released another statement saying Yubeen left the group due to health issues.

In October 2020, the label released a statement saying SangA left the group after requesting to terminate her contract due to personal reasons.

5. DIA

DIA has had four members leave the group: Seunghee, Eunjin, Jenny, and Somyi.

In April 2016, MBK Entertainment confirmed Seunghee left the group to focus on acting. In March 2018, Eunjin left the group, citing health problems and concerns.

In February 2019, Jenny took a hiatus from DIA activities due to a knee injury. In July, MBK Entertainment announced she left DIA due to health problems with her knee.

Somyi stopped promoting with DIA in 2020, though no reason was given at the time. She remained inactive until January 2022, when PocketDol Studio announced they terminated her contract and she had withdrawn from DIA.

6. AOA

AOA has had five members leave the group: Youkyung, ChoA, Mina, Jimin, and Yuna.

In October 2016, Youkyung terminated her contract with FNC Entertainment and left AOA. However, she stated that she was willing to perform as a guest member for any future AOA Black activities.

In June 2017, Choa left the group, announcing a break from the entertainment industry due to health reasons. She revealed she tried to recover her health issues with medication but failed.

In April 2019, Mina left the group after choosing not to renew with FNC Entertainment. She revealed she wanted to pursue acting.

In July 2020, Jimin left the group and entertainment industry after Mina accused her of bullying her for ten years, leading Mina to self-harm and suicide attempts.

In January 2021, Yuna left AOA after choosing not to renew with FNC Entertainment.

T-ARA has had seven members leave the group: Jiae, Jiwon, Hwayoung, Areum, Dani, Boram, and Soyeon.

In June 2009, Jiae and Jiwon left T-ARA due to artistic and musical differences.

In May 2012, Dani was revealed as the eighth member of T-ARA. However, due to controversies over adding a new member to the group, she never debuted with T-ARA.

In July 2013, Areum left the group to pursue a solo career. Following Areum's departure, MBK Entertainment announced Dani would join T-ARA N4. However, she never joined the group.

In July 2015, Hwayoung left the group after alluding that members were bullying her on Twitter. While she initially claimed no bullying occurred, she later went on broadcast to say she was hated. However, she was later revealed to be lying by staff members.

In March 2017, Boram and Soyeon left T-ARA after terminating their contracts with MBK Entertainment.
