Natalie Holt Twitter: Simon Cowell’s Egg Thrower At Britain’s Got Talent Identified On Twitter Via Hashtag #eggwoman [VIDEO]

The woman who threw eggs at Britain’s Got Talent Judge Simon Cowell, Natalie Holt, during the show’s live finale, was discovered by many Twitter users on the site via the hashtag #eggwoman.

The viola player pelted Simon Cowell with eggs Saturday night while brothers Richard and Adam were performing.

In a statement released by Britain’s Got Talent, Holt said, “I want to apologize to Richard and Adam for overshadowing their performance. I’ve never done anything like this before and in hindsight I have realized what a silly thing to do.”

Natalie Holt is part of the band Raven Quartet, who appeared on the talent show in 2012 She’s also a BAFTA-nominated composer, reported the Daily Mail, and appeared in the closing ceremony of the Olympics last summer.

The hashtag #eggwoman sprung on Twitter in hopes of identifying her. When her name was reported, her Twitter account was immediately discovered, @filmmusicholt.

The official account of Raven Quartet, clarified that they had nothing to do with Holt’s egg-throwing fiasco.

“We were surprised as all of you,” they tweeted.

“Just to clarify…The other 3 of us were working elsewhere today and found out when you did,” they said in another tweet.

Tweets about and for the #eggwoman was a mixed of amusement and odd support

User Pete Paphides called her a “jubilant-looking egg cannon.”

Another Twitter user, Tom Carr, was more critical tweeting to a friend, “@Danarazzi: #eggwoman says she pelted Cowell cos he makes acts mime on stage. GET A GRIP WOMAN." + did it during an act who werent miming..”

Twitter user Joseph Burniston imagined a what-if scenario that could have made the incident more interesting from his perspective, tweeting, “What does everyone think of #bgtfinal #eggwoman I thought it would have been funnier if she hit @SimonCowell in the face.”

Natalie Holt, who was smiling the whole time while throwing eggs at Cowell was removed by the police from the show. A spokesman from Britain’s Got Talent who spoke to MailOnline said that they “have decided to take no further action at this stage.”

Holt in an article at The Guardian titled, “Why I pelted Simon Cowell with eggs” said she threw eggs at Simon Cowell because she care “deeply about the power Cowell and reality shows have over the music industry.”

She wrote, "I have received many messages of support from well-known musicians who I've worked with in the past, who've contacted me privately, but who are unwilling to express their support publicly. Everyone is scared of standing up to people like Cowell. I don't dislike him personally; I just don't like what he represents.

Reality TV talent shows are not the way to discover the next Beatles, or to nurture talented musicians and entertainers. The people who seem to benefit most from talent shows are the judges."
